Earlier this month we had the pleasure of being a network partner of the Advancing Women in Agriculture Conference in Niagara Falls! This inspiring event brought together university students studying #agriculture, producers, entrepreneurs, grower associations and corporate #agribusiness leaders. Together, we focused on building leadership and career skills while fostering connections among women from across Canada and the agricultural sector. 💡 A highlight was learning about the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada/ Agriculture et Agroalimentaire Canada’s AgriDiversity Program, which supports not-for-profit organizations in helping youth, women, Indigenous peoples and persons with disabilities overcome barriers to fully participate in the agriculture sector. You can learn more about the AgriDiversity Program and apply here: https://lnkd.in/g9W4-wH9 // Plus tôt ce mois-ci, nous avons eu le plaisir d’être partenaire du réseau de la conférence Advancing Women in Agriculture à Niagara Falls ! 🌍 On this International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we acknowledge the important contributions of women entrepreneurs living with disabilities to entrepreneurship in Canada. Our State of Women’s Entrepreneurship (#SOWE) report reveals that women living with disabilities own 26.1% of SMEs majority-owned by persons with disabilities. The report also reveals how many women are “pushed” into entrepreneurship due to barriers in traditional employment. In contrast, others are “pulled” by opportunities to develop solutions that benefit the disability community and society. ✅ #SOWE is our annual report and is a go-to resource for the most complete picture of research on women’s entrepreneurship in Canada.
