One of the most exciting -- and stressful! -- tasks on my plate each year is setting up our Election platform for the spring elections. If you are a current undergraduate student, I hope I will soon have the honour of adding your name to the ballot. It is only through the courage and dedication of students like you that the USC can continue to enhance the Western experience.

The USC is excited to announce that we’re looking for 4 Directors to join our Board of Directors 🌟 As the governing body, the Board is responsible for the policies and procedures that govern the corporate and operational affairs of the organization. This includes matters like human resources, legal issues, financial concerns and more 🏛️ As a Director, you’ll get the opportunity to learn more about our elections and appeals policies and managing the USC’s contracts and investments. We’re looking for candidates that are current students at Western that can hold a 2 year volunteer position with the Board of Directors. It has been an incredible week in Ottawa! Both myself and Michelle Wodchis-Johnson have had the opportunity to work with the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations to talk to federal leaders about evolving students needs at the post secondary level. It has been amazing to connect with Western alumni and students across the country during this trip! In our meetings with Members of Parliament we discussed things like Work Integrated Learning and the rising cost of living, particularly for students. I am so proud to represent the University Students' Council at Western University and hope to see our recommendations come to life. Forever grateful for this job!

Students at #WesternU are gaining hands-on experience to understand how artificial intelligence can enhance their educational experience through a peer-to-peer training workshop facilitated by the University Students' Council at Western University Created in partnership with Western’s chief AI officer, Mark Daley, the USC Peer AI Learning Program offers free workshops where scholars from different faculties show how AI is transforming their research and fields of study. “We know students are going to use AI, but if they’re not taught how to use it properly, it can actually be a disadvantage to them. That defeats the purpose of what it was designed for, so it’s important to teach students how to use it correctly.” - Daniel Klapper, USC student services vice-president
