The submission period for Wheaton Precious Metals' inaugural Future of Mining Challenge is now closed. We received strong interest in the challenge, which seeks to support the mining industry to become more efficient while minimizing its environmental impact. We are now working with external evaluators and Foresight Canada to review applications. The winner of the US$1M award will be announced at the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) convention in March 2025. Learn more about the challenge at www.futureofmining.ca.

It’s been an honour for Wheaton Precious Metals to participate in the Tour de Cure for the last 15 years and to support the BC Cancer Foundation as the Presenting Sponsor of the event over the last 9 years. It’s been an event close to our hearts, and we are truly thankful for all of the support and efforts of the donors, riders, volunteers and other sponsors that have helped BCCF to advance cancer research and enhancements to cancer care across the province.
After careful consideration, we have made the very difficult decision to end the Tour de Cure. This decision comes after 16 memorable years, and raising over $131 million in gross revenue for BC Cancer. While this decision was not made lightly, it was guided by three key factors: rising costs, declining net revenue and escalating external risks such as unpredictable climate events, including heat, smoke and rain. We are deeply grateful for the incredible contributions made by our riders, donors, volunteers, sponsors and staff since our first ride in 2009. Your passion and dedication have fuelled advances in cancer research and enhancements to care. BC Cancer Foundation continues to remain committed to raising vital funds to support the over 80,000 people treated by BC Cancer each year.
