From Woodstock, Ontario ✈️ to Washington, D.C.
This summer the Woodstock Art Gallery had the honour of presenting Many Lives Mark this Place at the Embassy of Canada to the United States in Washington, D.C. The series of large-scale portraits by senior Canadian artist John Hartman features award-winning Canadian authors in the landscapes that inspire them.
Eleven paintings have been on display at the Embassy of Canada Art Gallery since July and on Thursday, a special reception was held to celebrate John Hartman and his work. Director/Curator Mary Reid was joined in Washington by representatives from the City of Woodstock, Ontario including Mayor Jerry Acchione.
As a small municipal art gallery, we are so proud to help share this incredible piece of Canadian art and culture on the international stage!
