About us

Workplace Fairness International (WFI) was founded in Canada in 2005, with a commitment to promoting fairness and understanding conflict dynamics in the workplace setting. Our signature assessment formula is the basis for employee engagement and improved productivity. WFI provides people and organizations with fair, effective, and sustainable solutions for preventing, resolving, and managing workplace conflicts. We support organizations in fostering a healthy culture based on the core values of equality of concern and respect. Our founding principle is that each person in the workplace deserves equity of concern and respect, and we are driven by the belief that healthy, proactive workplace management can build healthy workplaces. Operating on this principle, we believe that healthy organizations will improve employee morale and engagement, heighten creativity and communication, and positively impact their bottom line. Extensive experience in the field of workplace restoration has taught us that each organizational conflict is complex. We have developed a complete suite of workplace interventions that can be tailored to the needs of the client.

  • While Blue Monday gets a lot of attention, workplace mental health is a year-round priority. 💡 Stress, burnout, and mental health challenges don’t follow a calendar. They’re influenced by how we work, how we’re supported, and how we manage life inside and outside the office. At Workplace Fairness International, we believe every organization can foster mental well-being with the right tools and approach. Here are a few ways to make workplace mental health a focus in 2025: ✅ Normalize conversations about mental health—start with open dialogue. ✅ Encourage boundaries—support employees in unplugging after work hours. ✅ Invest in resources—offer access to mental health support, like EAPs or workshops. ✅ Foster inclusivity—create spaces where all voices feel heard and valued. Small, consistent actions can lead to a big shift in workplace culture. Let’s work together to ensure every employee feels supported, valued, and understood—not just in January, but all year long. 🌟 How does your organization support mental health & well-being? • A message from our President and Founder of Workplace Fairness International., Blaine Donais LL.B., LL.M., C.MED., Q.ARB., PHSA, WFA : To all my contacts, friends and allies of Workplace Fairness across the world - but especially to my American friends. This post is not about politics... it is about our work and how we see and treat each other as the world of work begins to turn upside-down. In the upcoming months and years there will be fundamental challenges to values that I hold dearly, and I expect if you are a contact you might as well. I think we can expect challenges to: - Equity - Diversity - Inclusion - Belonging - Intersectionality Lens - Trauma informed approaches - psychological health and safety to name a few progressive concepts about how we should look at the world of work. You can expect all of these to be dismissed as "Woke" as "Socialist" as "Communist" as "Social Engineering" etc. You can expect a rise in extreme nationalism (which is an "ism" like the rest). This will be promulgated by threats and actions from our political leaders (and in some cases, our business leaders.) I want you all to know that I still believe in our collective efforts across the world to make our workplaces operate from a place of fairness, justice, psychological and physical safety, equity, diversity and inclusion. Now, more than ever, we need to advocate for positive, constructive and safe workplaces. We need to advocate for this in each and every country of the world. We need to advocate for this, despite what some of our political and business leaders say. It has been my great privilege to have developed friendships with like minded people in the Canada, the US and in other countries. These are the ties that should bind us. Let's keep the positive and constructive dialogue going. Let's keep advocating for safe, healthy and fair workplaces. I invite you all to join with me in our continuing advocacy for workplace fairness, regardless of what country you live in. Together, we can still make this world a better place to live in, one workplace at a time. With great love and deep respect! #WorkplaceFairness #DiversityMatters #PsychologicalSafety #BelongingAtWork #ProgressiveLeadership #BuildingBetterWorkplaces

  • Let’s Talk Professional Commitment Guilt January often feels like the “Monday” of the year—back to work, refreshed (hopefully), but quickly overwhelmed by tasks piling up. Does this sound familiar? ✅ Feeling guilty for not answering work emails late at night. ✅ Sacrificing personal time to meet “urgent” work demands. ✅ Experiencing stress or burnout from constant accessibility. You’re not alone. At Workplace Fairness International, we see how “professional commitment guilt” can lead to serious consequences, including burnout and even disharmony at home. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Employers can take the lead in fostering healthier workplaces by: 🌟 Setting realistic productivity expectations. 🌟 Rewarding work-life balance instead of overwork. 🌟 Creating open dialogue about workload and mental health. Employees: Remember, balance is a two-way street. Speak up, set boundaries, and prioritize your well-being. Let’s start 2025 by working smarter—not harder—and making time for what matters most. 💬 #WorkplaceWellness #ProfessionalCommitment #MentalHealthAtWork #Leadership #WorkplaceFairness

  • 🌟 The Importance of Employee Recognition 🌟 Employee recognition is a cornerstone of a healthy workplace culture. When efforts go unnoticed, morale can decline, and trust in leadership may falter. Sound familiar? 💡 The Challenge: Without meaningful recognition, even the most motivated teams risk disengagement, which can lead to conflict and high turnover. ✨ A Proven Approach: Here’s how we recommend organizations create impactful employee recognition programs: 🔹 Be Specific: Highlight achievements that align with company values and goals. 🔹 Be Timely: Recognize contributions as soon as possible for maximum impact. 🔹 Be Genuine: Authentic, personalized acknowledgments resonate more deeply than generic praise. 📈 Why It Matters: Organizations that prioritize recognition often see transformative results: ✔️ Increased employee satisfaction. ✔️ Reduced turnover. ✔️ Stronger workplace relationships built on trust and collaboration. Key Takeaway: Recognition isn’t just a “nice to have.” It’s an essential strategy for creating a fair, engaged, and thriving workplace. 🎉 Want to learn more about how recognition can transform your workplace? 🔗 Visit us at workplacefairness.ca #WorkplaceFairness #EmployeeRecognition #Leadership #WorkplaceCulture #EmployeeEngagement #TrustBuilding
