  • #MomentumMonday This coming Saturday, our team will celebrate International Women’s Day by recognizing the incredible women who lead with impact, resilience, and a commitment to growth. Leadership isn’t just about titles—it’s about the ability to inspire, uplift, and create meaningful change. This year’s theme, #AccelerateAction, is about accelerating gender equality. At the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158, which is roughly five generations from now, to reach full gender parity, according to data from the World Economic Forum. Accelerating action means building increased momentum and urgency in addressing the systemic barriers and biases women face, both personally and professionally. This can be done by recruiting, retaining, and developing diverse talent and supporting women and girls' advancement in leadership, decision-making, business, and STEM. We are especially grateful for the amazing women on our team who bring their talent, dedication, and leadership to everything they do. Your contributions make a difference every day, and we’re so thankful to work alongside you! • #MomentumMonday Leadership in Adversity: Owning the Moment True leadership isn’t tested when things go right—it’s tested when everything goes wrong. When faced with adversity, the best leaders don’t deflect, blame, or wait for rescue. They take responsibility. Owning challenges, even those beyond your control, builds trust, strengthens teams, and creates a culture of accountability. It’s not about having all the answers; it’s about stepping up, making decisions, and guiding your organization forward. In difficult times, your team looks to you. Will you lead with courage and responsibility, or will you hesitate? The choice defines not just the moment, but your leadership legacy. How do you approach responsibility when the pressure is on? Weekend Wisdom: No Pain No Gain When people talk about growth—whether in business, leadership, or life—they often aspire to have a better future reality: greater success, improved health, stronger teams, more fulfilling relationships. But here’s the catch: to get there, you must leave your current reality behind. And that’s where the pain comes in. Transitioning from where you are to where you want to be means embracing discomfort. It might require tough decisions, letting go of old habits, or facing challenges you’d rather avoid. But that pain is the price of progress. I recently had knee replacement surgery to alleviate ongoing knee pain. It was an issue that I had been dealing with for a while. The decision to have the surgery was to allow me the opportunity for a better future reality. More mobility, more freedom, more activities with my wife. While I am in the very early stages of recovery and rehab, the short-term pain will be worth it in the long run. No Pain, No Gain isn’t just a gym or aches and pains cliché—it’s a also a leadership principle. Want to grow your business? You’ll face risks. (Pain) Want to lead better? You’ll need to confront blind spots. (Pain) Want a stronger team? You’ll have to challenge and stretch them beyond what feels comfortable. (Pain) The good news? Pain is temporary. Growth is lasting. Every great outcome—whether it’s a transformed organization, a personal breakthrough, or a new chapter from a career or health perspective—requires moving through discomfort. The key is to focus on what’s on the other side. That’s where the reward is. What’s one step you’ve taken recently to move through discomfort (pain) and toward something greater? #Leadership #GrowthMindset #Transformation #NoPainNoGain Kris Schinke, MBA Lenora Thomas X5 Management Enjoy your weekend!

  • #MomentumMonday Imagine driving without a steering wheel—no control, no direction, just hoping you’ll end up where you need to be. That’s what running a business without a strategic plan looks like. Strategic planning isn’t just a document; it’s the mechanism that keeps your organization on course, helping you navigate challenges, adjust to changing conditions, and reach your destination with purpose. It's the engine. It ensures that decisions aren’t reactive but intentional, aligning every move with long-term goals. A well-crafted strategy allows leaders to anticipate roadblocks, take advantage of opportunities, and keep their teams focused on what truly matters. Without it, you risk drifting off course, wasting resources, and missing critical growth opportunities. Is your strategic plan keeping you on track, or is your organization just hoping for the best? 🚀 Mike Mack, MBA Kris Schinke, MBA Lenora Thomas Brent Collingwood, M.Ed., CEC, CFL Gina Boucher #strategicplanning #strategysession #corporatedirection Join Our Email List (info@X5management.com) for Exclusive Business Insights & Professional Development News. • The Power of Teamwork in a Growing Organization! What an exciting addition to the X5 Management team. A big welcome Charlene! Success isn’t just about strategy, it’s about people. As organizations grow, the challenges become more complex, the goals more ambitious, and the need for collaboration even greater. What makes the difference? A team that works together. In a thriving organization, teamwork isn’t just about dividing tasks, it’s about multiplying impact. It’s about trust, communication, and shared accountability. It’s about leaders who empower, colleagues who support, and a culture where every voice matters. The best teams don’t just adapt to growth; they fuel it. They innovate, problem-solve, and create a competitive edge that no single individual could achieve alone. When teamwork thrives, so does the organization. It is indeed exciting to welcome Charlene Wolthuizen, CFP, CPCC! Mike Mack, MBA Lenora Thomas Kris Schinke, MBA Ingrid Carleton #Teamwork #Leadership #Collaboration #Growth

  • #MomentumMonday Week 3 on the job for Lenora Thomas and Event #5! January appears to have been a busy month for X5 Management in Edmonton for events and networking opportunities. Sometimes networking is seen as a transactional exchange, when ideally it is a mutually beneficial process. Building relationships, and working toward trust. And in many cases, friendships. Networking is abut connection rather than immediate gain. People often approach it with a mindset of what they can extract immediately, while the most effective relationships are built over time. Offering insights, introductions, and genuine interest in others creates an environment where people are naturally inclined to reciprocate. Broadening professional circles beyond one’s immediate role introduces fresh perspectives and unexpected opportunities. Conversations with others from different backgrounds and industries can spark innovation and open doors that a narrow focus might overlook. The most meaningful professional relationships are not based on competition but on contribution. The more we offer guidance, mentorship, or simply thoughtful conversation, we build foundations for future possibilities. Let’s not forget about our circles of influence, and how often we might be in a position to offer a recommendation or referral based on our existing and trusted relationships. All made possible because we took the time to get to know a stranger at a planned event. At X5management, we prioritize relationship building and love to nurture our existing relationships. So it makes sense for our newest team member, and Director of Operations and Innovation, to participate right from the start! Looking forward to another busy event month in February, and if you would like to connect, let us know! Mike Mack, MBA Kris Schinke, MBA #connections #networking #relationships
