We’re proud to share that the Zilia Ocular has been featured in a significant study conducted by Dr. Wendy Harrison's team at the University of Houston College of Optometry. This research highlights how our technology is reshaping our understanding of diabetic retinopathy (DR). 🔍 Key Insights from the Study: ➡️ Retinal oxygen saturation, measured in the macula, increases with duration of diabetes for both those with and without retinopathy, as well as with DR severity. ➡️ A clear inverse relationship was identified between vessel density and oxygen saturation, shedding light on the relationship between structural and functional changes in DR. ➡️ The study demonstrates how non-invasive ocular oximetry can provide critical insights into vascular and metabolic changes in diseases, opening the door to providing a novel biomarker for disease risk prediction and progression. 🙌 A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Harrison, Dr. Jennyffer Smith, and their colleagues—Dr. Kaitlyn A. Sapoznik, Dr. Kelly Bisignano and Dr. Julia Benoit—for their exceptional work and for choosing the Zilia Ocular technology to power their research. 📖 Read the full publication here: https://lnkd.in/eCtavSkb At Zilia, we are committed to advancing science and healthcare by unlocking the eye’s potential as a window into health. This study is another milestone in our mission to revolutionize how we detect and monitor ocular diseases. Stay tuned—more innovation is on the horizon! 🌍👁️ #Zilia #Innovation #OcularHealth #DiabeticRetinopathy #Oculomics
