Flashback Friday: Celebrating Richard Wise This #FlashbackFriday, we spotlight Richard Wise whose strong leadership and dedication left an indelible mark on the CBV Institute. As a past President, Richard championed the growth of the CBV profession, setting the stage for its global prominence in business valuation and financial litigation. With a distinguished career spanning decades, Richard's expertise helped shape the industry through his co-authorship of the “Guide to Canadian Business Valuations” and his contributions to valuation standards through his service on the American Society of Appraisers. He was also the chair of the Standards Committee for ASA. His legacy includes over 180 court testimonies as a financial expert witness, bringing clarity and authority to complex financial disputes. A lifelong advocate for professional excellence, Richard continues to inspire CBVs with his commitment to advancing the field and fostering collaboration across borders. Today, we honour his contributions to the CBV community and his unwavering dedication to the profession. His dedication extends beyond the courtroom and boardroom. Richard has delivered more than 150 professional presentations to organizations such as the CBV Institute, CPA Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, and the American Bar Association, consistently advancing knowledge and fostering professional collaboration. His commitment to excellence was recognized with prestigious honors, including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Governor General’s 125th Anniversary Medal for his contributions to business valuation, the community and, to Canada. #CBVInstitute #BusinessValuation #ExpertLeadership
