“That sounds great, but it just isn't a priority for us right now." This phrase, shared with me by a business leader, perfectly illustrates the struggle many organizations face when it comes to mental health. We know it's important, but it often gets lost in the shuffle. It's time to change that and initiatives like the Movember Speak Easy are crucial to making that change happen. Mental health in the workplace isn't just a "nice-to-have" – it's vital for building a high-performing team and organization. In fact, 60% of employees have experienced mental health issues that impacted their productivity at work, yet many don't feel supported. Many leaders recognize this – either because of their own experiences or simply because they care deeply about their teams. But knowing you need to step up is just the first step. Real leadership in this space means being proactive. It’s not enough to say “I’m here if you need me.” We need to invest time, energy, and social capital into creating spaces, relationships, and trust where mental health can be openly navigated and supported. But then the question arises: what does meaningful action look like? Many leaders want to do something impactful but are unsure of where to start. There's often a fear of not being prepared, or concerns about opening up conversations you're unsure how to navigate. If this resonates with you – if you want to make a meaningful impact but aren't quite sure what authentic action looks like for your organization – Movember Speak Easy is a fantastic option. These facilitated conversations provide a safe and supportive environment for employees to connect, share their experiences, and break down the stigma surrounding mental health. https://lnkd.in/gjJ2Ae6w Let's connect! I'm passionate about supporting organizations in building mentally healthy workplaces. Reach out – I'd love to hear your thoughts and explore how we can work together.

🦺 When you think of safety in male-dominant sectors, what comes to mind? Perhaps it’s robust first aid policies or clear emergency exits. Maybe it’s the use of protective gear and regular safety drills. But workplace safety must extend beyond physical measures and policies. True safety encompasses a team climate characterized by interpersonal trust and mutual respect, where everyone feels mentally and emotionally secure. It’s about creating an environment where people can speak up, be themselves, and collaborate without fear. When employees feel psychologically safe, teams thrive—resulting in higher performance, stronger innovation, and a culture where everyone feels valued. In today’s uncertain world, leaders who prioritize psychological safety and inclusion in male-dominant workplaces drive success. Do you have the courage to join them? 📅 Join Equity Leaders Principal Consultant, Trevor Mayoh, on September 11th at 10 am PT / 11 am MT / 1 pm ET to develop your skills in building psychological safety in male-dominant workplaces. Limited spaces available. Register via Zoom. https://lnkd.in/gPEP9xx2

We are proud to announce our partnership with Movember as their Canadian and US facilitation partner of Movember SpeakEasy workshops. These brave (we try not to use safe spaces in our language) spaces help individuals master the art of navigating powerful (the language used in the workshop) conversations. For years, Equity Leaders has been at the forefront of fostering environments where tough talks aren’t just possible; they’re productive and positive. Our Movember SpeakEasy workshops are designed to continue this legacy and elevate it, focusing on improving mental health and psychological safety in the workplace.
