  • 🌟 Spotlight: Meet Christina Lord With over three decades of experience in early childhood education, Christina began her journey at Fanshawe in 1990, dedicating her passion to the Infant Room at the College's daycare. From teaching in the evenings to guiding future educators, her commitment has shaped countless lives. In 2020, Christina transitioned to the Early Childhood Leadership Program as a Faculty Advisor, continuing to inspire students with her expertise. She also teaches and supports the summer internship program, ensuring students receive valuable hands-on experience. It's incredible to see Christina's contributions to Early Childhood Education.   • Spotlight on Jamie Russell 🌟 Jamie is a remarkable professional in our Developmental Services Worker Apprenticeship Program, bringing over 16 years of experience in the Developmental Services sector. Jamie is a proud graduate of a DSW program, beginning her career as a Direct Support Professional. She currently serves as the Director of Human Resources at KW Habilitation and teaches Professionalism courses at Fanshawe College part-time. 🏆 Jamie recently received the “Making a Difference Award” at the 2024 Provincial Developmental Services HR Forum in Toronto. This recognition was for her outstanding contributions in developing, piloting, and facilitating an Operational Leadership Learning Series through the Developmental Services Workforce Initiative. In her spare time, Jamie is also a passionate Community Theatre Member, showcasing her creativity and commitment to the arts. Congratulations, Jamie!   • Meet our dedicated Faculty and Field Coordinator for the Honours Bachelor of Early Childhood Leadership (ECL), Mary Mitches. With over 30 years of experience as a Registered Early Childhood Educator, Mary has made a significant impact in licensed not-for-profit childcare and with the TVDSB in Kindergarten classes. For the past 5 years, she has passionately taught at Fanshawe College, guiding students in both the ECE diploma and ECL programs. Mary brings her passion for supporting children as active agents, working collaboratively with educators, families, and each other to be empowered and engaged learners. Relationships Matter! At ECL, we focus on early childhood development, pedagogy, human relationships, curriculum development, and leadership skills. Our applied degree offers over 1000 hours of hands-on field experiences.
