In case you missed in, October's Cover Story features Teadit Group! Gaskets are a critical component of sealing systems used in connectors, pipelines, and process equipment; however, they are yet to be incorporated into the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) formal definition of “Certified Low-Leaking Technology.” The move toward low-emission gaskets will not only support ongoing environmental goals but will also help facilities avoid potential legal penalties under future consent decrees. Material selection, gasket construction and proper assembly of the gasket are all important considerations in achieving the high performance required for low-emissions applications. Teadit's Angelica Pajkovic, Client Specialist, Mark Ruffin, VP of Sales and Engineering, and Bronson Pate, Environmental Consulting Manager give us insight into how Teadit's 913M style gasket strives to meet these considerations. Probability of Detection (PoD) curves are widely used to evaluate methane measurement technologies, particularly for OGI cameras. However, their effectiveness as a standalone metric for continuous monitoring (CM) systems is limited. In this article, Qube Technologies's Alex MacGregor, CEO, and Ben Montgomery, Sr Marketing Analyst, argue for a more comprehensive evaluation approach that includes operational efficiency and real-world accuracy. This month's Cover Story features Teadit Group, a company actively pushing towards sustainability and compliance. While some manufacturers have already begun offering low-emission variants of their spiral wound gaskets, most do not guarantee they will meet the specific leakage limits, such as 100 or 500 parts per million (ppm). Teadit has taken the initiative to offer only low-emission gaskets as its standard product, such as Teadit's 913M style gasket. This proactive approach eliminates the need for customers to choose between standard and low-emission options, aligning with a broader industry push toward sustainability and compliance. In this article, Teadit's Angelica Pajkovic, Client Specialist, Mark Ruffin, VP of Sales and Engineering, and Bronson Pate, Environmental Consulting Manager give us a closer look at their spiral wound gaskets. Emerging technologies make possible the balancing of growth in industrial demand with societal responsibility. They do this by enabling sustainable energy, safe workplace environments, and improved operational efficiency through automation and AI. One of the most versatile sensing technologies, offering a high level of multi-response capabilities, is intelligent infrared (IR) imaging. Until recently, IR imaging added significant value to industrial operations through remotely detecting hot spots via thermography, gas leaks through optical gas imaging (OGI) inspections, and more - but always under human supervision. Recent improvements in microprocessor computational power and breakthroughs in AI have now made it possible to automate real-time detection and system actions with smart IR imaging-based solutions. Francisco Cortés, PhD, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at SENSIA, on how smart infrared is revolutionizing industrial emissions monitoring, preventive maintenance and safety. https://lnkd.in/ezu3FPSX #Emissions #ArtificialIntelligence #Automation #Technology #Innovation

Pegged Emission Rate – The specified emission rate used for any leak with a “pegged” screening value (i.e., any PPM reading that exceeds the Analyzer Peg Value). Analyzer Peg Value – The highest PPM reading that an analyzer is designed to detect. Kevin Moses, Director of Operations at LDARtools outlines the options available to LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) programs regarding pegged emission rates and analyzers, focusing on valves in light liquid/gas vapor service.
