Named in honour of Tim Smith, CMA CEO from 2015 to 2024, this scholarship is designed to support early-career physicians and residents dedicated to health and social care leadership. This annual scholarship promotes leadership in advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, reconciliation, and anti-racism in health care. Dr. S. Monty Ghosh, MD MBT MSc MPH FRCPC ISAM, joined us to reflect on his experience in the National Health Fellows program and how collaboration across sectors is essential to addressing healthcare challenges. On how the program has shaped his perspective, he shared, "It showed me the future is coming, and it is coming quickly. We have to be prepared as a healthcare force for that and we need to adapt quickly to our new circumstances...Technology is coming along that can potentially help us, but we need to learn how to use it, and be sure that it is accurate, useful, equitable, and safe." Nancy MacCready-Williams sat down with us to discuss the learnings and insights she gained from participating in the National Health Fellows program and the need for both innovation and collaboration when it comes to healthcare transformation.
