    🌟 Celebrating Social Innovators in Training: Highlights from the 33rd GreenHouse Social Impact Showcase 🌟 Last week, GreenHouse hosted its 33rd Social Impact Showcase at United College, shining a spotlight on the innovative student-led ventures driving social and environmental progress. With over 1,000 students empowered and 125+ ventures launched, GreenHouse continues to be a hub for changemakers at the University of Waterloo. 💡 Meet the 2023 Social Impact Fund Winners: These incredible teams received funding to advance their ventures: Enyana Health ($3,000): Creating Amatuungo Aid, a mobile triaging system empowering Ugandan farmers with accessible veterinary support. Impactfy ($3,000): Leveraging AI to connect volunteers with opportunities aligned to their skills and passions. Mamo Connect ($1,500): Facilitating virtual exchanges to promote peace, education, and mentorship for African youth. Hunarsa-Ehsaas ($1,500): Developing an AI-driven platform to improve employability and soft skills in South Asia. 🏆 Changemaker Awards also recognized four outstanding individuals for their leadership and impact in the GreenHouse community. And there’s more to celebrate! University of Waterloo - United College's work through GreenHouse and FlintHub was nationally recognized by the Canadian Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship for advancing social and Indigenous entrepreneurship.     The 33rd GreenHouse Social Impact Showcase at University of Waterloo - United College celebrated the inspiring efforts of #UWaterloo students who are tackling some of the world’s most pressing challenges. With over $10,000 in funding awarded, these changemakers are proving that innovation and compassion can transform communities and improve lives. Meet the ventures making a difference: ▪️ Enyana Health: Revolutionizing livestock farming in Uganda with a mobile triaging system offering automated advice in local languages. ▪️ Impactfy: Leveraging AI to connect volunteers with opportunities that align with their skills and passions, redefining global volunteerism. ▪️ Mamo Connect Inc: Empowering African youth through virtual exchanges focused on peacebuilding, mentorship, and education. ▪️ Hunarsa-Ehsaas: Addressing employability gaps in South Asia with an AI-driven platform for soft skills development and mental health support. 🧠📚 The event also introduced the Changemaker Awards, celebrating students driving inclusive design, technology for good, and global community impact.     Each term, GreenHouse hosts the Social Impact Showcase to celebrate the achievements of our students and award grants from the Social Impact Fund. Students, faculty and staff, and community members are all welcome to attend. The students will be competing for two $3,000 and two $1,500 grants to grow their social and/or environmental impact initiatives. We are excited and proud to be hosting the 32nd Social Impact Showcase. Join us in celebrating youth-led social innovation, entrepreneurship and impact on Wednesday, November 20th | 4:00-5:30 p.m. at United College (Alumni Hall). The Showcase creates a unique and valuable opportunity for our students to connect with community members who may support them on their journey in refining their ideas.

Offered virtually, this training will help founders embed the principles of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (EDIA) into their organization from the ground up. Using the startup development phases as a framework, the program walks founders through how to innovate for inclusion with practical tools and resources for each phase.
