Amazing location, right on the water front and close to the airport. We lucked out and there was a Thursday market in the evening on the street in front of us. We spent a lot of time on the waterfront picking seaglass and watching the marine life (we saw quite a few). As well, they have air conditioning, which seems to be hard to find. The staff were nice and helpful. The room was clean and had a microwave and coffee maker. A kettle would’ve been nice. Our outside door led to a cute little balcony. There is a breakfast in the morning however we will be leaving before it starts so will miss out.

We had a one-bedroom suite, which was spacious with a very comfortable king bed. The clerk was friendly and welcoming and it was nice to have the sea walk just across the street - just a 15 minute walk to the downtown area. On the minus side, the place seems to need some maintenance. Even the ”Cedarwood” sign out front only had half the letters working - not a good first impression. The light in our kitchen area didn't work and the TV setup seemed overly complicated. Note to those bothered by the smell of cedar: our suite had lots of it on the walls, which we liked but it does rather reek.

The hotel is located on the north side of Victoria Island. It takes only 5 minutes to drive to the beautiful small city of Sidney after getting off the ferry. The surrounding restaurants and supermarkets are well-equipped. You can walk to the beach for a meal in a few minutes. It is suitable for a leisurely vacation. There are plenty of parking spaces, and the staff are mostly white. They are enthusiastic but not rushed. Coffee, hot chocolate, fruit, cookies, and lemonade are placed in an orderly manner. After entering the store, you feel like you are back home. The facilities are of the standard of old Western hotels. They are not luxurious, but neat and clean.
