Shopping - Ubud art market to pick up some nice souvenirs and good local artwork if you’re willing to rummage. Booked flights and hotel with Trip and saved quite a bit. Celebrated birthday in style in Ubud Bali. Ubud is bustling again, shops open, streets lively, restaurants and cafes galore. And when you’ve had enough of the hustle and bustle, book a Grab approved motor bike out to rice fields, temples, world heritage sites, volcanoes, food markets, waterfalls, even more restaurants, authentic villages and art galleries, all less than an hour away. Starting my birthday morning at 3am with pick up from the hotel lobby in a very comfortable clean car to the volcano lake, followed by a boat ride watching shooting stars and then a hike up a rather steep but doable path with a very nice knowledgeable local guide was magical. Watching the sunrise on the rim with 360degree views and a freshly prepared local breakfast was a once in lifetime experience. Exploring the large village and temples on the lake front in daylight was enlightening and then onto the wonderfully hot hot springs for much needed tired legs to relax. Lunch is optional but a snooze in the air conditioned car was compulsory 😊 4 hour Sunday lunch at Como was one of the best meals in Ubud, but to be honest all the meals were rather special. Ended the day with cocktails and the best reggae music at LoL Ubud. Once the band started up the legs were ready to dance
