From late December to the end of February, this is the best time to visit. You can walk directly from the lake to the glacier and touch the blue glacier with your own hands. Here is our itinerary for you. 🚘 Day 1: Lhasa - Linla Expressway - Nyingchi - Sejila Mountain - Lulang Day 2: Lulang - Tongmai - Bomi - Lower Ranwu - Ranwu Town Day 3: Ranwu Lake - Laigu Glacier - Blue Cave - Bomi Day 4: Bomi - Lulang - Nyingchi - Yarlung Zangbo River Wetland - Buddha Palm Dune - Suosong Village Day 5: Suosong Village - Nyingchi - Mila Mountain - Lhasa Must-visit spots 📗 ✅ Ranwu Lake: Tickets: Free 🎫 Ranwu Lake is the most beautiful in winter, with ice-blue water reflecting the snow-capped mountains. It's a great place for photos (see picture 7). ✅ Laigu Glacier: Tickets: CNY 150 + CNY 60 for the sightseeing bus 🎫 Laigu Glacier is a collective name for a group of glaciers, including Meixi Glacier, Yalong Glacier, Ruojiao Glacier, Xiongjia Glacier, and Niuma Glacier. The stunning blue ice wall and blue ice cave here make you wonder if it's real. Yalong Glacier is the most spectacular. ✅ Suosong Village: Tickets: Free 🎫 Suosong Village is the best place to see the Golden Mountain of Namjagbarwa. If you want to see the Golden Mountain, this is a great choice. You can also see the reflection of the Golden Mountain on the riverbank. Laigu Glacier photo spots 📷 1✔️ The glacial lake in front of the ice tongue, for close-up shots of the glacier details. 2✔️ Laigu Village, for a long and deep view of the glacier. ⚠️ Tips: 📍 Only from late December to February, the glacial lake will have a thick ice layer, allowing you to walk directly from the lake to the glacier. It may be closed at other times, so timing is important. 📍 We flew directly to Lhasa, then joined a group tour/rented a car/shared a ride. You can adapt to the altitude in Lhasa for a day in advance. 📍 The lighting is better in the morning at Laigu Glacier. The blue glacier effect is better on sunny days, making for better photos. 📍 Bring crampons for walking on ice, and essentials like a hat 🧢, sunglasses 🕶️, face mask, sunscreen, and high-calorie snacks 🍪. 📍 After reaching the gate, you need to walk/ride a horse into the scenic area, which takes about 20 minutes. Horse riding costs about CNY 100 per person. 📍 The UV rays are strong, and it's sunny during the day. A down jacket/3-in-1 jacket is enough. 📍 Don't enter the glacier alone.
