Masterpieces of Islamic Architecture in European Civilization

Andalusia Tour ~ Córdoba The landmark of Córdoba is a masterpiece of Islamic architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Mezquita Mosque is the most famous Arabic-style mosque. Its construction began in the 8th century. You can't tell how big it is from the outside. The interior is absolutely stunning, with over 800 striped columns and a cathedral in the middle. Construction began in the 16th century and lasted nearly 250 years. As such, it retains many different architectural styles. A must-see and well worth the €13 entrance fee. We were blown away by the information, the scale and history of the building. The historical importance and beauty of this place made this two-hour visit the highlight of our trip to Spain.
