Transportation • Self-driving: Navigate to the Hengshan Tourist Center parking lot. Parking costs CNY 10 per time, with no time limit. • Bus: Take a minibus or bus to Hunyuan County from Datong Railway Station or Bus Station, then transfer to the Hanging Temple. There is a direct tourist bus to the Hanging Temple from Datong East Bus Station, which costs about CNY 25. Tickets Entry ticket: CNY 15 per person; Climbing ticket: CNY 100 per person. Tickets can be reserved and purchased via the "Hengshan Scenic Area" WeChat account or on-site. Opening hours Spring and autumn: 8:00–17:00; Summer: 8:00–18:00; Winter: 8:30–16:30. Tour route After entering, turn right and head towards the suspension bridge to queue up for climbing faster. Recommended route: Fotang Courtyard → South Building (Chunyang Palace, Sanguan Hall, Leiyin Hall) → North Building (Four Buddha Hall, Three Saints Hall, Three Religions Hall) → "Spectacular" Stone Tablet. Recommended attractions • Fotang Courtyard: A "concave" courtyard formed by the Fotang Hall, Mahavira Hall, and Bell and Drum Towers. • Sanguan Hall: The hall enshrines the Heavenly Official who bestows blessings, the Earthly Official who pardons sins, and the Water Official who relieves people of misfortunes. • Three Religions Hall: The hall enshrines the founders of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, namely Confucius, Sakyamuni, and Laozi, reflecting the unique culture of the integration of the three religions. Recommended food Try local specialties such as knife-cut noodles, Hunyuan cold noodles, lamb offal soup, and golden rice cake. Recommended accommodation You can stay in Hunyuan County, such as near Jinlianhui Shopping Center, or at the foot of Mount Heng. Reminders • The stairs in the Hanging Temple are steep and only allow one-way traffic. Be careful. People with acrophobia are not recommended to climb alone. • Follow the rules of the scenic area. Do not climb or touch cultural relics. Protect the environment and do not litter. • Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and prepare sun protection and rain gear according to the weather. • Drones are prohibited. There are lockers at the entrance.
