Golden Lion Lake in Kaohsiung

Located at the border of Sanmin District and Renwu District in Kaohsiung City, Golden Lion Lake Park Scenic Area covers an area of about 25 hectares, with the lake itself covering about 11 hectares. The water source comes from the Dingjin Canal on the east side of the highway, serving as a rainwater regulation function during the rainy season. The Bao'an Bridge on the lake is modeled after the Zhaozhou Bridge in mainland China, and the white marble lion carvings on the bridge are modeled after the Lugou Bridge. The scenic area includes various attractions such as Lion Mountain Park, Butterfly Garden, Moral Court, and Fudingjin Bao'an Temple, all surrounding the lake. Lion Mountain is lush with trees and ancient banyans with intertwined roots. There are pavilions on the mountain where visitors can overlook Banping Mountain, Shoushan, and the Kaoping Plain. Various trails are available for hiking and exercising. The park also has children's play facilities, providing a place for children to play and making it a great destination for people of all ages.
