A Sherpa village near Namche on the EBC route, Khumjung.

On the way to EBC, very close to Namche Bazaar, there is a Sherpa village (actually not that small) called Khumjung. It was already deep winter when we arrived here, and the village was almost only inhabited by the elderly and children. It is said that the young people have gone to work in Kathmandu, making this large village a bit less lively but more serene. Khumjung is at an altitude of 3,790 meters, which is not very high on this route, but there was already some snow at this time, and we happily had a snowball fight. However, the most famous thing here is the Yeti's skull, which is enshrined in the temple, but photography is not allowed. I am actually half skeptical, does the Yeti really exist? Haha, maybe I haven't immersed myself enough. I really like this village and look forward to staying here for a longer period next time.
