Join me in exploring this charming city! 📆 Itinerary: Kumamoto Castle - Sakura-no-baba Josaien - Kumamon's Office - Suizenji Jojuen Garden 🚗 Transportation Tips: Purchase a one-day pass for Kumamoto trams at Kumamoto Station to travel to various attractions. ‼️ Kumamoto Castle, Sakura-no-baba Josaien, and Kumamon's Office are just a short stroll away from each other. It is recommended to visit Kumamoto Castle in the morning and Kumamon's Office in the afternoon. 🌟 Highlights of the Trip: ✅ Kumamoto Castle: One of Japan's 🇯🇵 top three historic castles, alongside Himeji Castle and Matsumoto Castle. Its iconic tower is truly awe-inspiring. ✅ Sakura-no-baba Josaien: Located at the foot of Kumamoto Castle, it is a perfect spot for leisurely strolling and dining. Don't miss the Edo-themed performances at 11 am daily, which are sure to get your adrenaline pumping. ✅ Kumamon's Office: A visit to Kumamoto wouldn't be complete without meeting the beloved mascot! Dance with Kumamon and shop for a variety of Kumamon merchandise. 💰 Average Expenses: Kumamoto City Tram One-Day Pass 🎫: 500 JPY Suizenji Jojuen Garden 🎫: 400 JPY Horse meat dishes: 5,000-8,000 JPY per person 📌 Travel Tips: ⭕️ Kumamoto Castle is quite expansive, with only the main tower currently open to the public. It takes over half an hour to walk from the station to the tower, so allocate at least half a day for exploration. ⭕️ At Sakura-no-baba Josaien, be sure to try horse meat burgers and horse meat sushi. Look for the shop with a long queue outside. We also tried the popular honeycomb ice cream, but it was too sweet and not recommended. ⭕️ Many horse meat restaurants only open in the evening. There are plenty of options near Kumamoto Castle or Kumamoto Station, so you don't have to visit the most popular one. ⭕️ Kumamon performs daily at 2:00 pm. His office is small, so arrive half an hour early to secure a good spot. If you're late, you may have to watch from outside. ⭕️ Don't forget to feed the koi fish at Suizenji Jojuen Garden. Fish food can be purchased at the entrance for a reasonable price. Toss in a little food and watch the fish swarm – it's quite a spectacle!
