The walls and ceilings of the church's arcades are painted with colorful religious frescoes, with exquisite details that are breathtaking. The frescoes are mainly in bright red, blue, and gold, vividly depicting classic scenes from the Bible, with each detail carrying a long religious history. The interior of the church is even more magnificent, with a dazzling golden dome, intricate wooden altars, and smooth, colorful icons. In the quiet atmosphere, the flickering candlelight creates a mysterious and solemn ambiance. 💡 Practical tips: 🚗 Driving from Sofia to Rila Monastery takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes one way. It is important to note that there are some pitfalls in the car rental market in Bulgaria, so it is recommended to choose an international car rental company to avoid unnecessary trouble. 🚌 There is a direct bus from Sofia Alexander Nevski Cathedral to Rila Monastery, which takes about 3 hours.
