Taishan Bixia Temple

Taishan Bixia Temple is a famous Taoist temple in Mount Tai. It is located in the Taishan Scenic Area in the south of Tai'an City and is one of the important attractions in Mount Tai. Bixia Temple was first built in the Tang Dynasty and has been repaired many times. The current building was rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. Bixia Temple is an important place for Taishan Taoism and a representative of Taishan Taoist culture. Taoist gods are enshrined in the temple, the most famous of which is Bixia Yuanjun. Bixia Yuanjun is a goddess in Taoism, known as the "Goddess of Mount Tai" and the main deity of Mount Tai Taoism. Every year on March 18 of the lunar calendar, a grand sacrificial event is held at the Bixia Temple in Mount Tai. Bixia Temple has a unique architectural style. The entire building complex is located on the mountainside of Mount Tai and consists of multiple halls and courtyards. The buildings in the temple are all wooden structures, and the roofs are covered with green tiles, which look simple and elegant.
