The next morning, I took a bus directly to Qiyun Mountain Scenic Area to visit this Taoist holy land in southern Anhui. There is a cable car to the top of Qiyun Mountain, but the highest altitude here is only 580 meters, not much higher than Dashu Mountain in Hefei, so I didn't take the cable car. I hiked all the way up easily, but elderly people can take the cable car to the top, as there is not much climbing. If you hike, the altitude at the foot of the mountain is 160 meters, and you have to climb 300 meters to reach the ticket office at an altitude of more than 400 meters. The ticket is CNY 68, which is not expensive, but the ticket office is basically at the top of the mountain. Although the mountain road is in the forest, there are many colorful fir trees and pavilions for rest, and the autumn scenery is quite good. I am not very interested in cultural landscapes, so I just walked around the Taoist temples on Qiyun Mountain. However, I was surprised to find that Zhang Sanfeng's tomb is here. Isn't Zhang Sanfeng from Wudang Mountain? I read the introduction and learned that Zhang Sanfeng traveled here and stayed to continue his practice, and finally passed away here. But this may just be a legend. I am more attracted to the natural scenery of Qiyun Mountain. Unlike Huangshan, Jiuhua Mountain, and Tianzhu Mountain, Qiyun Mountain is a rare Danxia landform in Anhui. The red mountain body has obvious layers, which were formed by billions of years of sedimentation. Some rock layers can clearly see pebbles, which should have been at the bottom of the river back then. It is really a change of the world. There are inns on the top of the mountain, and the price is not expensive. However, there was no sea of clouds this time, and the weather became overcast in the afternoon, so I felt there was no need to stay on the top of the mountain. After climbing the highest peak, I went down to the Danxia Corridor and the suspended plank road. There were very few tourists (I didn't see anyone else that day), and the scenery was amazing. Although it was cloudy, I was lucky to see the sunset through the clouds, which also dyed the sky into a burning cloud, which was rare. Then I went down the mountain in the dark. It was very fast, and I reached Qiyun Mountain Town in an hour. It was too late, so I stayed in the town directly.
