Yuncheng Travel: Yongji

Climb Guanque Tower Yuncheng, formerly known as Hedong, is located in the southwest of Shanxi Province, in the center of the Yellow River Golden Triangle of Shanxi, Shaanxi, and Henan. Yuncheng has a long history and rich culture, and is named after the salt transportation city. It is an important part of the early Central Plains cultural circle. Yuncheng has jurisdiction over 1 municipal district, 2 county-level cities, and 10 counties. Yongji City is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Yuncheng, located in the southwest corner of the Yuncheng Basin. Yongji was formerly known as Puban and Puzhou, and was once the capital of Emperor Shun, one of the Five Emperors. Sima Qian called this place "the center of the world" in the Records of the Grand Historian. According to historical records, Qin established Puban County, and in the sixth year of Yongzheng in the Qing Dynasty (1728), Puzhou was promoted to a prefecture, and Yongji County was established, which belonged to Puzhou Prefecture. Yongji is one of the few famous cities and towns in Shanxi. Yongji is also a place full of historical culture and natural beauty. Guanque Tower is the most famous tourist attraction in Yongji and a cultural landmark of Yongji. Guanque Tower, also known as Guanque Tower, is said to be named after the storks that once perched on the tower. Guanque Tower was built in the Northern Zhou Dynasty (557-557) at the end of the Southern and Northern Dynasties and was destroyed by war in the early Yuan Dynasty (1222). The current Guanque Tower was rebuilt in the late 1990s and is a four-eaves, three-story Tang-style high-rise pavilion. Although it is newly built, it is very spectacular. Guanque Tower is one of the four famous towers in China (Yellow Crane Tower, Yueyang Tower, Tengwang Pavilion, Guanque Tower), and is famous for a poem "Climbing Guanque Tower" by the Tang Dynasty poet Wang Zhihuan. By the way, Yuncheng is only 60 kilometers away from Yongji, and its transportation is very convenient.
