The homestays have boosted the economy around Xuesong Village. Austrian explorer Joseph Rock came to Lijiang and lived here for 27 years, leaving a large amount of information about the area. His former residence is still in the village. The buildings in the village are basically made of stone, and the roofs have tile cats, which are said to ward off evil spirits and keep people safe. 🌟🌟 This time, I stayed at the "Yulu Xuesong Courtyard Hotel." I fell in love with it after staying there once. 😄 The scenery at the entrance, the food, and the service are all worth the time! 🔸Backed by Yulong Snow Mountain, you can enjoy the beautiful snow-capped mountains at any time, and you can hike up the mountain after watching the sunrise in the morning. I love the different scenery from sunrise to sunset! 🔸After satisfying your visual senses, you can enjoy authentic Yunnan cuisine, such as rice noodles in the morning, and copper/stone pot dishes for the main meal. I wish I could have it downstairs! 🔸You can also watch the stars from your bed at night and take a bath in the room. The price varies throughout the year, and it's cheaper to book on-site. The hotel offers free meals, sunrise viewing, tie-dyeing experience for children, etc. ✅✅In addition to staying at the hotel, I recommend the Yuhu Village tour route. 🧗 Day 1: Yuhu Village—Longnv Lake—Rock's Former Residence 🔹Transportation: Self-driving or Didi is recommended. There is a bus stop nearby. There are few people here, and it is only 30 minutes away from the ancient city. 🔹Things to do: Horseback riding. Every household here has horses, and the hotel can help you book a ride for about CNY 168. Longnv Lake. Watch the sunrise in the morning or take a picture of a lonely tree. Hiking. The hotel has a local guide who can take you on a light hike (4 km) or a small deep hike (10 km). You can pick mushrooms in summer. Naxi Home Textiles. You can learn about the lifestyle and living environment of the Naxi people, and you may see a pig-killing feast. Rock's Former Residence. Rock's Former Residence is a museum of the cultural history of Yuhu Village. 🔹Shopping: I recommend tile cats! You can't find them outside. They are handmade, and the smallest one is CNY 38. ☕️Coffee: Stone Wall Coffee (delicious bread), Qizhi Coffee (a small courtyard with a view of the snow-capped mountains, great for photos), Pushi Coffee (climb to the roof, backed by the snow-capped mountains). Tips: The road to the ancient village was repaired last year, so it's much easier to walk now. Many people hike up Yulong Snow Mountain during the day.
