Pollocks Toy Museum
A really interesting place. Never even knew this place existed until a friend recommended it. Absolutely crammed with old toys (from different periods and countries) over numerous floors. Definitely lots to see here. The place has a feel of a labyrinth to it. The admission was reasonable. The staff member on duty was helpful and informative. The shop was well stocked and also worth a visit after the tour.#awesomepic #couplestrip #deliciousfood
Hampton Court Palace
What a wonderful day. It’s huge, beautifully kept, full of history and amazing atmosphere. Great for kids too with the magic garden, slides, sand and water features to play with. The gardens alone are just so beautiful and huge! So many staff and plenty of them. The best customer service I’ve ever had from all of them. Huge toilets with plenty of cubicles.

Camden Market
One of the most vast and cultured markets within Europe and a first visit for me, Camden Markets offers everything from fresh pressed juice and vintage clothing to handmade jewelry and antiques.
The streets are teeming with culture and energy, with amazing curios around every corner and lovely staff at every stall.
Impeccable food from every culture available which I consider affordable for the locale.
Fantastic place to spend a day touring.

Isabella Plantation
Gorgeous and much bigger than expected. Allow more time to really emerge yourself in the beauty and diversity of this plantation. Two bathrooms within as well as sealed dirt walking paths. Plenty of new park benches so feel free to sit and observe the surroundings. Not to be missed when visiting the broader Richmond park.

Kensington Gardens
Absolutely gorgeous! Take a walk, have a picnic, enjoy the swans. It’s a beautiful place if you have the time to visit. I highly recommend getting some ice cream while you walk around!
FYI, very long walks to each landmark, several areas are no bikes allowed. Otherwise everything is handicap accessible!
Just an absolutely stunning place to be around.#awesomepic #couplestrip #deliciousfood
Christmas lights in the UK
Every year around towards the end of November all over the UK you will find a particular event called "switching on the lights".
From small towns like Truro in Cornwall to buildings with colour and warmth in Scotland to the magnificent display in London's west end this is something you have to see.
I have attached some photos to show what the lights mean but when you can visit London or better still places like Blackpool that havevthe most wonderful light shows in the dark days around Christmas just before the time days in Nothern Europe start their way to summer.
Enjoy and have a merry Christmas

Leeds, England
Maggie’s Centres are places where people with cancer, and their friends and families, can go to find free practical and emotional support. Heatherwick Studio was commissioned to design a new centre at St James’s University Hospital in Leeds. To provide respite from the clinical environments of medical care, the studio looked at the qualities that make a building a home; the use of warm, natural materials, the way that objects are used to express individuality, the combination of private spaces and places where people can come together, and gentle lighting. The rooftop garden, designed by award-winning landscape designers Balston Aguis, is inspired by Yorkshire woodlands and features native English species of plants. Instead of a single, monolithic canopy, the roof is composed of three overlapping gardens, which step down and overhang to shelter communal areas.

Best experienced by taking an overnight
I have already discussed much of my visit to Halong Bay in a separate review for Bien Ngoc Cruises, but will write this in addition, in order to capture the attention of anyone thinking of visiting Halong Bay without spending the night afloat on one of the many boats/junks that offer such trips.
The views from the land, though attractive, do not compare with the views available from a junk boat. However, even the short trips, out and back on the same day, lose out on so much of the experience gained from an overnight cruise. The cruises include meals and several excursions/activities, such as kayaking, cave visits, and the opportunity to climb to the peak of Titop Island for breathtaking views and photo opportunities.
I have visited many places around the world, but few compare with Halong Bay. So, not only would I highly recommend a visit to Halong Bay, I would say it would be madness not to take an overnight cruise.

England: Tea, Telly, and Truly Quirky Culture
Ah, England – where it’s perfectly normal to discuss the weather for hours and still never quite know what it’s doing. The culture? A mix of ancient castles, royal scandals, and pub quizzes. And let’s not forget the food – sure, it may have a bad rep, but once you’ve had a proper Sunday roast with Yorkshire pudding, you'll see the light. Fish and chips by the seaside? Divine. The landscapes are equally charming – rolling hills, misty moors, and of course, the iconic countryside dotted with sheep that might just be judging you. The English people are polite to a fault, but don't worry – they'll warm up to you over a pint of ale (or several). Just mind the rain – it’s as reliable as a good cup of tea!

Skiddaw
Skiddaw is a prominent mountain located in the Lake District National Park in England. It stands at 931 meters (3,061 feet) and is one of the highest peaks in the area. Skiddaw is known for its distinctive shape and is a popular destination for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. The mountain offers several routes to the summit, with the most common being from the village of Keswick. From the top, visitors can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including Derwentwater and the neighboring peaks.
Helvellyn
Helvellyn is one of the most famous mountains in England, standing at 950 metres (3,000 ft), making it the third highest peak in the country. Located in the Lake District of Cumbria, Helvellyn is a popular destination for climbers and nature lovers. One of the most popular routes up the mountain is via Striding Edge, a challenging narrow path that offers dramatic views of the surrounding cliffs and valleys. From the summit, climbers can enjoy stunning views over the surrounding lakes, such as Ullswater and Thirlmere. Helvellyn has long been a favorite of explorers and artists. In 1926, pilot Bert Hinkler landed his plane on the summit of Helvellyn, one of the first aircraft landings on a British mountain. Helvellyn is also home to a variety of wildlife, including birds of prey and other mountain animals. The trails up Helvellyn offer a variety of challenges, from fairly easy trails to more technical ones such as Striding Edge.
Scafell Pike
Scafell Pike is the highest mountain in England, standing at 978 metres (3,209 ft). Situated in the Lake District of Cumbria, Scafell Pike is part of a dramatic landscape and is popular with climbers and holidaymakers seeking a challenge in the outdoors. Scafell Pike is often part of the "Three Peaks" challenge, where climbers attempt to summit the highest peaks in England (Scafell Pike), Scotland (Ben Nevis), and Wales (Snowdon) within 24 hours. From the summit, climbers can enjoy spectacular views of the Lake District, including Wastwater Lake, known as the deepest lake in England. On clear days, views can extend as far as the Isle of Man and Scotland. The most popular route up Scafell Pike is from Wasdale Head, which is the quickest and most direct route to the summit. There are also longer routes from Eskdale and Borrowdale, but they offer different views. The summit of Scafell Pike was gifted as a national war monument to the British people after World War I by Lord Leconfield, in honour of the fallen soldiers. The weather on Scafell Pike can change rapidly, even in summer. Heavy fog and rain are common, so climbers need to be well prepared, both in terms of clothing and navigation equipment. Scafell Pike is a mountain that offers both physical and technical challenges for climbers, but also offers a profound experience of its natural beauty.
