The coastline of Lima, Peru, is stunningly beautiful
Lima's coastline stretches for 17 kilometers, forming a two-layered landscape with upper and lower levels. The upper level is a leisure and fitness area composed of small parks with different themes, meticulously maintained; the lower level is a water play area mainly for surfing, swimming, and fishing.
Today, I set aside a day to relax here, starting from the China Park, which was built to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Peru and the 170th anniversary of Chinese immigration. As early as 1849, Chinese immigrants had already arrived in Peru, and by 1874, the number of Chinese immigrants in Peru had reached 100,000. No wonder the airline asked me to show a departure ticket when flying to Peru, perhaps they were afraid I wouldn't leave?
Next to the park is a fitness area, with several clay tennis courts. On the nearby lawn, I saw a group of people practicing Chinese Shaolin martial arts. Seeing that I was Chinese, they specially demonstrated a set of knife techniques for me.
Continuing forward, there is a sunken green space with patterns of the Peruvian land drawn with plants, including spiders, footprints, flowers, and monkeys.
There is a small path along the cliff leading down to the seaside below the cliff. Lima is on the eastern coast of the South Pacific, with big waves, making it very suitable for surfing. Watching a large number of surfers riding the waves made me itch to join them. It has been 8 years since I last surfed in Hawaii, and my body can no longer withstand the pounding of these waves.
Walking back along the seaside, I saw many breakwaters, with many crabs 🦀 between the rocks.
Near the seaside restaurant, there is a trail leading up the mountain, which leads to the Love Park. Here, there is a huge sculpture of a couple kissing, with many couples expressing their love here.
Walking back from the Love Park, I saw a paragliding 🪂 base, where you can glide between the cliffs and the beach under the guidance of staff, finally circling above the lighthouse.
The seaside is also a great place to watch the sunset. Today, there was a thick layer of fog over the sea, allowing me to enjoy the beautiful scene of a red sun slowly sinking into the sea of clouds.
💡tips:
1️⃣ The temperature difference between day and night by the sea is large, remember to add or remove clothes as needed.
2️⃣ The coastal area is a wealthy area and relatively safe.
3️⃣ There are no dining services except for the Love Park and the cliff mall.
