The Boudhanath Stupa in Kathmandu
The first time I saw the Boudhanath Stupa, I was struck by its massive white dome. This stupa, located in Kathmandu, is one of the most important sacred sites for Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. Even before reaching the stupa, you can see the colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind from afar, and the air is filled with a sense of tranquility and peace. As you approach the stupa, you'll find it surrounded by numerous small shops selling Tibetan handicrafts, statues, and prayer wheels.
Walking clockwise around the stupa, you can feel the devotion of the faithful as they chant prayers. The stupa is adorned with the eyes of Buddha on all sides, each pair seemingly watching over you. Under the sunlight, the white of the stupa appears particularly dazzling, bringing a sense of inner peace.
Standing on the platform of the stupa, you can overlook the entire Boudhanath Stupa area. Most of the surrounding buildings are in Tibetan style, with colorful prayer flags on their roofs. At Boudhanath Stupa, you can not only appreciate the unique architecture but also experience the rich religious atmosphere. This is a pilgrimage site for Tibetan Buddhists and a great place to understand Nepal's diverse culture. If you visit Kathmandu, don't miss the opportunity to experience the charm of Tibetan Buddhism here.

Boudhanath Stupa
One of world heritage located in Kathmandu Nepal. The Boudhanath Stupa is very similar to the Swayambhunath Stupa, only it is bigger and enjoys better symmetry. Boudhnath Stupa is famous for sight seeing . For foreign people the ticket price is 250Npr per person.
The Boudhanath stupa is a historical pilgrimage site for all the Buddhists around the world. It was built right after the demise of Lord Buddha during the 5th century AD.

Stunning Stupa in Kathmandu, Nepal
Beautiful Bouddhanath stupa is one of the must place in Nepal where we have to visit. It is located not far from Kathmandu international airport and Pashupatinath temple(both are heritage sites). We can plan to visit both places in the same day. Many people go to pay respect and make merit (walking meditation around the stupa and feed the birds)
There are lots of nice cafe surrounding, good to drink and enjoy view if you have enough time.
Lots of souvenir shops surrounding, not that expensive (can bargain).

Serenity at its peak.
Boudhanath Stupa. This is what I call serene.#bucketlistreboot#mytripvlog #stupa #nepal #peace #peaceful. Named after its immense stupa, Boudhha is a pilgrimage destination for Tibetans. Devotees stroll around the gleaming white dome adorned with painted Buddha eyes and visit nearby monasteries and schools for prayers and seminars. Tucked-away eateries serve up momos and thukpa noodle soup, while more upmarket restaurants offer stupa views. Silk thangka paintings are a popular buy in the area’s souvenir shops. The vibe and the atmosphere around the stupa always puts to peace.#bucketlistreboot

Stayed in Kathmandu for a month and everything about it was magical😍. Although it was summer, the weather in kathmandu was perfect. It was hot during daytime but cool at night time. We had rainy days which helped with the summer heat and it was just perfect compared to other cities in Nepal, which were just extremely hot.
We stayed in an apartment near boudha and the view was just amazing no matter what time of the day you see it. Especially the Boudhanath Stupa, it was just majestic and magical, you just get a feeling of relief when you watch it, its pleasing to the eye and the soul, it was really fun doing circles around boudha.
Kathmandu is very lively in the day time but even livelier at night. We did frequent thamel which is the place to experience proper nightlife in nepal, it just doesnt sleep. We went to club Platinum , Senate and LOD and had the best experience ever drinking and doing shisha with friends and locals🍾🤩.
Definitely recomment visiting this capital city of Nepal🤩❤️

Boudhanath Stupa
Boudhanath Stupa is probably the most famous and visited place in the city of Kathmandu. The whole visit, including walking around and taking pictures should last between 1 to 2 hours.
The place is really well preserved and is a pleasure to see. It is more comfortable to visit this place in the morning or late afternoon as the weather is quite hot.
This is the kind of places you must feel proud to visit and enjoy in person as it’s part of the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Entrance fee is not expensive at all and it is good value for the money. Totally worthy.

Nepal's oldest world heritage: the Great Buddha Tower in Bodha, the former border market.
The trade between Nepal and Tibet has been very frequent since ancient times. Even today, many merchants who live in Lhasa or live in Lhasa often travel between Kathmandu and Lhasa. They are mostly daily necessities compared to their previous goods. Today, they are mainly based on tourist souvenirs. The most common one is Bodhi. There are Thangka, wool scarves, various gems and so on.
Due to cultural integration and influence, especially in the area of the Great Buddha Pagoda, Tibetan religious items are very common. Thangka, Jinglun, and the thick scent of butter tea make most visiting Chinese tourists feel I am familiar with everything.

The Buddha said that the world should be enveloped in this peaceful and peaceful atmosphere. The Habo Buddha Stupa is one of the most shocking of the entire Kathmandu.
The big eyes on the pagoda, quietly watching the devout pilgrims in the square, quietly watching the mean capital of Nepal.
Under the blue sky and white clouds, the Habo Grand Stupa stands tall in the middle of the square, watching the crowd coming and going. Above the square in front of the pagoda, many monks are turning the tower. A pair of eyes on the stupa are lifelike.
Adam Yue.
The Bodhnath Stupa is one of the seven world cultural heritage sites in the Kathmandu Valley and one of the largest pagodas in the world. According to historians, the Bodhnath Stupa has existed for as long as 1,500 years and was included in the United Nations in 1979 in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is located at approximately seven kilometers from the center of Kathmandu. Approaching the Stupa and taking part in the clockwise rotation of the crowd, as if feeling the efforts of the old vortex, round after round, endless rotations, surrounded by the white pagoda of the magnificent Stupa. The clear blue sky and the colored prayer flags everywhere and makes it impossible to forget and gives you some peace in the mind. And the gray pigeons on the white tower, like a gray pearl on the white sari. The pigeons look like a group of angels, bringing blessings and peace to people. The expression is a little too cute to express the peace and spirituality of this place.

Explore the Peaceful Beauty of Boudhanath Stupa
Visiting Boudhanath Stupa was a deeply peaceful experience. The massive white dome, crowned by Buddha’s watchful eyes, radiates calm. Walking the kora (circumambulation) with locals, spinning prayer wheels, and soaking in the energy felt meditative.
At sunset, the stupa glowed with butter lamps, creating a magical atmosphere. Sitting at a rooftop café, sipping chai while watching life around the stupa, was a moment of pure serenity.

Boudhanath Stupa: Peace, Prayer Wheels, and Butter Tea
I really enjoyed visiting Boudhanath Stupa. It’s such a peaceful place with the big stupa in the middle and lots of colorful prayer flags flying around. I walked around it a few times, spinning the prayer wheels, and just soaking in the calm vibe.
One thing I wasn't sure about was Tibetan butter tea. It’s made with black tea, milk, salt, and butter, and I thought it sounded weird at first. But after trying it, I actually liked it! The salty, creamy taste was pretty good, especially when it’s chilly outside.
I also liked hanging around the area—there are lots of little shops and cafes. If you go, try to visit early in the morning. It’s much quieter and you get a better feel of the place without the crowds. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in Kathmandu.

Kathmandu: The City of Temples
#asiatrip
Kathmandu, the vibrant capital of Nepal, is often called the “City of Temples” for its astonishing collection of ancient religious sites. Nestled in the Kathmandu Valley, this bustling city is a treasure trove of history, culture, and spirituality, with temples and shrines at every turn.
One of the most iconic landmarks is the Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple. Perched atop a hill, this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers breathtaking views of the city and is a symbol of harmony between Hindu and Buddhist traditions. The stupa’s gleaming golden spire, prayer flags, and ever-watchful Buddha eyes make it a spiritual haven for locals and visitors alike.
Another must-visit is the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu sites in the world. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this sacred temple complex on the banks of the Bagmati River is a masterpiece of pagoda-style architecture. Non-Hindus cannot enter the main temple, but the surrounding ghats (cremation platforms) and rituals offer a fascinating glimpse into Nepal’s spiritual life.
The Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world, is another highlight. Encircled by prayer wheels and vibrant monasteries, it’s a center for Tibetan Buddhism and a place of serene devotion. The stupa comes alive during the evening with butter lamps and chanting monks.
In the heart of the city lies Kathmandu Durbar Square, a historic hub of temples, palaces, and courtyards. The intricately carved Taleju Temple and the revered Kumari Ghar, home to the living goddess, are standout features.
Kathmandu’s temples are more than just architectural wonders; they are vibrant centers of worship and cultural heritage. Whether you’re a history buff, a spiritual seeker, or simply a curious traveler, these sacred sites are sure to leave a lasting impression.
