Kek Look Tong- Million Years Old Cave
Kek Look Tong- is a million years old limestone cavern in Ipoh. It's abt 30 mins drive from ipoh town and free parking is available outside the cave.
Once there, you will be in awe by the shear size and beauty of the place . It's cooling inside the cave and there are many worshippers and visitors even though I visited on a weekday. Take a walk in the garden behind the cave and immerse in the tranquility of the place.
Kek Look Tong is one of the few limestone caves in Ipoh and definitely worth a visit.

Cave Temple in the Middle of Limestone Mountains
I think Ipoh is one of underrated city in Malaysia. If you come to Ipoh by car or bus, you will know that the city is mesmerizing, surrounded by the limestone mountains. It looks like in Avatar the movie. Not too far from city center, there is a beautiful caves temple, named Kek Lok Tong. It's approximately 15 – 20 minutes ride from city center. I got there by online taxi booking for about RM 12. It opens from from 8 a.m to 4:30 p.m. When I arrived, I saw a lot of seniors were coming in group. Then I entered the temple, and I realized that this temple has a hassle-free access. At the back of the temple, you'll find a lake and river that makes this place even prettier. You can take a paddle boat for RM 12 within 30 minutes ride.

Beautiful cave
Ipoh is well known for mountains and caves, this is one of the cave I visited during this Ipoh trip- Kek Look Dong. This place is not so far away from the kin loong cafe ( the one i posted previosly), so I made a trip here after that.
This is a very old cave in Ipoh, with hundreds years of history that’s why you can see the beautiful formation of all the limestones. This cave is also very windy, especially when you are standing at the look out point!
There is also a garden beyond the stairs, you can rent a bike a stroll around the pond if you wish. I think this is a very beautiful and peaceful place, especially if yiu can appreciate the formation of the limestone.

Beautiful temple set in a cave
🌄 The temple was set in a limestone cave with many Buddha sculptures.
It is a well-maintained and peaceful temple. The moment you stepped into the entrance, you can feel the cool temperature compared to the heat outside.
It is worth exploring the cave and the stone formation. You can also walk around the garden where there is a Koi pond. There is also a reflexology path which is the longest in Ipoh for you to explore.

Paddle around the beautiful limestone
Lek look dong in Ipoh is one of the most popular caves for tourists, it’s well known for their beautiful limestone and the phenomenal scenery. I always bring my friends here but today is my first time trying the paddle boat, it was fun and worth trying! We paid RM 12 for 2 pax and RM 20 for the bigger boat which can fit up to 4 pax. I’m so glad that they come up with new activities for tourists to enjoy, it’s a perfect place for a family day out! I enjoyed the boat ride here, you can enjoy the beautiful limestone while paddling. I wish they can open up longer route.
There are other activities like foot reflexology and bicycle rental as well. For the foot reflexology is free, and the fee to rent the bikes are affordable, would recommend y’all to come try out.
We are also lucky enough to see lots of monkeys running around, don’t worry, they are harmless. They look so cute 🥰 I would recommend this place if you’re visiting Ipoh! Enjoy!

We included this place for part of our family trip and it was a remarkable experience. The temple is a located just outside from Ipoh and can be easily reached from the highway. The parking lot is also free of charge! The temple itself is amazing and surprisingly cooling. We are able to see nice statues from Buddhists or Confucius and all the other related religions symbols and this is all embedded into an amazing scenery of this limestone cave. The cave stalactites and stalagmites are awesome. The climb up to them is easy might looked challenging but it can be done by the young and old. #timetotravel #malaysia #ipoh #perak

KEK LOONG TONG TEMPLE IPOH
Nestled in between serene lakes at the base of Gunung Rapat, Kek Look Tong Temple has become a bustling tourist attraction despite its remote location. The imposing caves and the stunning gardens are sure to please any visitor. The history of the temple isn’t sacred or remarkable. It was briefly involved in ore mining, but otherwise, it has always simply been a place of worship.
The entrance fee for Kek Lok Tong is completely free, but donations are always appreciated at the donation booth to help with upkeep costs.
The entrance alone inspires a picture. The ivory-coloured cliff face has a distinct line where the vegetation begins, creating a green picture frame around the entrance. Chinese guardian lions stand at the base of the stairs that gently rise up to the wide, gaping mouth of the cave. In between the lions, a manicured patch of lawn has purple flowers arranged into the Buddhist symbol of peace.
The gardens at Kek Lok Tong have an idyllic, paradisal look. A peaceful pond is surrounded by green lawns, while the cliffs enclosing this hidden valley and the perfect sunny sky complete the picture.
