A paradise of breathtaking beauty, the Poetry Society of the Qing Dynasty was a place where literati gathered to compose poetry and engage in elegant conversations
The Jinglian Temple was built during the Qing Dynasty, with the Beixue Building inside facing the snow-capped mountains. When windows are opened, one can see the snowy peaks. The famous Qing Dynasty poet-monk Miaoming lived, practiced, and attained enlightenment here, often inviting literati to compose poetry and engage in scholarly discussions at the Beixue Building. Thus, the Beixue Building became widely renowned, and people would sometimes refer to Jinglian Temple simply as Beixue Building. Today, the Beixue Building Hotel is built on the original site of Jinglian Temple, incorporating the site's genetic heritage, Eastern philosophy, and Naxi ethnic symbols, nourished by modern living habits and artistic culture, to create a new hotel lifestyle.
Design
The hotel design continues the cultural symbols of 'Beixue Building', such as the Qing Dynasty poet-monk Miaoming, the 'Guixiang Poetry Society', and the 'Snow Society' from the late Qing and early Republic era, inheriting and developing the literary heritage. It integrates contemporary culture, art, and design aesthetics into the ancient Naxi official architecture and traditional materials. The courtyard-style hotel constructed features corridors and viewing platforms that connect five courtyards, blending natural landscapes and Zen into the space, making it observable, walkable, enjoyable, and livable, filled with the ritual sense of Eastern aesthetics.
Rooms
The hotel has 24 different style rooms, some connected by corridors to small courtyards, some with views of the snow-capped mountains, and some overlooking the ancient city. At that moment, the views of the courtyard, mountains, and city are all within sight, with the outside world becoming a natural painting. The guest room amenities are carefully selected from high-quality items around the world, making contemporary quality life readily available within a room, including co-branded turntables from Vanish National Library, Dyson hair dryers, Dyson hot and cool fans, King Koil mattress Legend series, Hansgrohe/Duravit smart bathrooms, 24-hour intelligent oxygen balancing equipment, central air conditioning, floor heating, Biyunquan direct drinking water machines, and Nespresso capsule coffee machines.
