Sapporo Factory
The Sapporo Factory building was formerly owned by the Sapporo Beer Company and is now a large shopping complex. The mall is great for outdoor adventure enthusiasts as there are tons of shops selling outdoor and camping gear and athletic equipment. There is also a movie theater, and behind the atrium hall is a small museum of the Kaitakushi Brewery. We walked here from Sapporo station and spent two hours browsing the shops and museum - definitely worth visiting when in Sapporo.

This time we chose Sapporo, Otaru and Furano and Biei in the northeast from September 1st to September 7th. We definitely want to see the sea of flowers in the summer. We didn’t want to be in a hurry, so we didn’t consider the Hakodate area in the southwest. In the end, it seemed Very wise!

🔸 This time I stayed at the Mitsui Garden Hotel Sapporo Nishi in Sapporo and I felt very good:
Distance advantage: Less than 10 minutes’ walk from Sapporo Station, 25 minutes’ walk from Tanukikoji, Hokkaido University, and Sapporo Factory Store. Opposite the hotel is the famous dessert shop Rokkatei.
Breakfast advantages: The hotel includes breakfast, the meals are excellent, you can drink Hokkaido milk every day, and there are sashimi and fish roe in the morning
Service advantages: The hotel provides children's supplies (slippers, toothbrushes, towels, toys), and the hotel has free baths
🔸 The Ichika Hotel where I stayed in Furano has better room facilities than Sapporo, and the bathrooms are POLA. Breakfast is included, but it is a little far from the station (30 minutes' walk)
🔸 If you want to go to Furano Biei, it is strongly recommended to stay in Furano instead of taking a one-day bus trip from Sapporo. The beauty of Hokkaido's countryside can only be felt by staying, hiking, biking, and experiencing it in depth.
🔸 Souvenirs such as Shiroi Koibito, Rokkatei, and Agricultural College can be bought at the airport at once, and tax refunds are available
🔸 There are many outdoor stores in Sapporo. If you want to shop, there are no shopping malls in Sapporo, Furano and Biei.
