Woljeongsa Temple is located in the valley of trees on the edge of Wutai Mountain. It is a large temple composed of temples (60) and nunneries (8) of different sizes. Woljeongsa Temple is said to have been built by Tsang lawyers in the 14th year of King Xuande (the reign of King Xuande in 780-785). Wutaishan National Park in winter is quiet. When I come here to walk the ancient song trail in front of the gate of Woljeongsa Temple, my heart will be quiet. Woljeongsa Temple houses the Holy Treasure Museum where you can appreciate the Buddhist culture of the Goryeo (918-1392) era, the 8-cornered, 9-story stone pagoda called the stupa, and the stone statue of the Bodhisattva. There are also the Treasure Palace of Quietness and the Hall of Quiet Light, which preserve the Buddha's bone relics. The Jingguang Temple generally enshrines Vairocana Buddha, but the Jingguang Temple in Yuejing Temple is dedicated to Sakyamuni. During the war on June 25, 1950, 17 buildings including the Seven Buddha Hall, Lingshan Hall, Guangying Hall, and Zhenying Pavilion of Woljeongsa Temple were completely destroyed by a fire, and then rebuilt on the original site. At that time, many cultural relics and historical materials in the temple were burned, and the bronze bell of Silla, which was unearthed from Chanlinyuan in Yangyang County and moved to Woljeongsa Temple, was also lost. Around the Woljeongsa Temple are the slaughterhouses and the historical sites. There are 22 pagodas that house the remains of monks from Woljeongsa Temple in front of Prajna Bridge, which is a 15-minute walk from Woljeongsa Temple in the direction of Shangwonsa Temple. The Shiku site is located near Yeongjangsa Temple, which is an hour's walk from Woljeongsa Temple in the direction of Sangwonsa Temple.
