Autumn in Kumamoto: The Aso Pampas Grass Maze
#DomesticTravelRecord
[Susuki Maze] Aso's Susuki spot. A vast area packed with Susuki. It's like a maze, and there's no set route, just endless Susuki. The beige world that makes you feel autumn was beautiful♪ Next to this maze is a roadside station, where we had soft serve ice cream. The soft serve ice cream was rich and delicious♪ A spot you'll want to stop by on your drive! 📍Susuki Maze 〒869-2303 Nishikozono, Aso City, Kumamoto Prefecture Parking: Free

A Marriott hotel in Aso with a great location and good value for money
#AccommodationTravelRecord
On the first day of my trip to Aso, I stayed at the Fairfield by Marriott Aso Kumamoto. The reason I chose this hotel was because of its location. On the second day, I wanted to go to either Daikanbo or Kusasenri early in the morning, so I chose this hotel because it was only a 20-minute drive from both. The price was also reasonable, starting at 15,000 yen per night for two people. I stayed for free with Marriott points, but with hotel prices going up these days, this price is appreciated for Marriott. Another plus point is that you can see Mt. Aso from the room! There is a free drink bar in the lobby, and they also have coffee, cafe latte, tea, and instant miso soup! The instant miso soup was surprisingly delicious, so I drank about three bowls 😂 The location was also quite good, with a roadside station and hot springs next door, and restaurants and ramen shops within a 5-minute walk. For dinner, I went to Coffee Plaza East, which was a 5-minute walk away. It had a pure coffee shop atmosphere, but it was a set meal restaurant that served local cuisine. It was really delicious. My husband had red beef bowl, and I had red beef hamburger! It's not a stylish place, but the food is delicious and I highly recommend it! I've also included some photos of the surrounding facilities at the end of the post♪📍Fairfield by Marriott Aso KumamotoAddress: 1407-1 Kurokawa, Aso City, Kumamoto Prefecture, 869-2225Room: Standard roomPrice: From 15,000 yen per night for two people (around 19,000 yen on Saturdays and holidays)📝Abundant facilities in the area5 minutes walk from Aso Station, next to a roadside station, hot springs, and restaurants. Boketto Forest: A very stylish complex in Aso
#DomesticTravelRecord
I took advantage of the three-day weekend to go on a trip to Kumamoto♪I stopped by Boketto Forest, a 7-minute drive from Kumamoto Airport. It's a complex in the forest with a variety store and a cafe. I had a cake set at the cafe called ar inside the forest♪Their special tableware is cute and a treat for both the eyes and the tongue. The lunch menu is healthy and uses organic vegetables. I'd like to come here for lunch someday♪The variety store has a camping equipment store, a store selling accessories such as necklaces and clothes, and more. There are four restaurants, cafes and variety stores in this forest. It's about time for the autumn leaves to change color, so be sure to check it out♪📍Boketto 834-27 Nuda, Nishihara-mura, Aso-gun, Kumamoto Prefecture 861-2403 ⏰10:00-18:00📝I arrived around 10:00 so the store was empty. 👍Recommendation: It's close to the airport, so it's recommended to go on the first or last day of your trip

A scenic spot along the Aso Panorama Line: Yonezuka

One of the joys of traveling in Aso is driving 🛣️
Aso Panorama Line has many view spots ♪
On the way back from Kusasenri, where I had to give up due to a huge traffic jam, I saw Yonezuka!
A wonderful view that blew away all my sadness of not being able to go to Kusasenri.
The green Yonezuka and the surrounding pampas grass plains were like something out of a movie.
If you go to Kumamoto, be sure to rent a car and go for a drive 🚗

I definitely want to visit Kusasenri Beach on my road trip in Aso.
I decided to go to Kusasenri on my trip to Kumamoto because I wanted to go there.
I definitely want to see this vast scenery that doesn't seem like Japan.
I tried to go there during the three-day weekend in October, but it was the middle day of the weekend and I had to walk 10km to get into the parking lot? There was a huge traffic jam nearby 😭 I gave up that day with tears in my eyes.
The next day was the last day of the weekend, so I didn't get stuck in the traffic jam and was able to go there easily ♪
