B-day at Gamcheon Culture Village!
Spent my birthday in Busan at the Gamcheon Cultural Village - an amazing experience! At the very beginning, we got a map of the village with a stamping quest. This place is indeed very colorful and unique. There are a lot of hills so please make sure to wear comfortable shoes and be ready to walk a lot. It took us about 4 hours to complete the quest and get through the whole village. I was surprised to learn that people actually live in those vibrant houses, they must have very strong legs haha. Overall, the Gamcheon Culture Village is so so worthy of your time so make sure to visit once you come to Busan :)

Colorful Gamcheon Cultural Village Busan!
#wecreate
One of the must visit place in Busan, South Korea is Gamcheon Cultural Village❤️. Its a historic village which has been converted to a lively colorful place by the people living here. You will find all kinds of colorful walls, vibrant photo points, different cafés, desserts, souvenir shops, hanok rentals, proper cultural shops and museums.
One of the best dessert I have eaten there is this Marshmellow ice cream😋
The ice cream contains vanilla/strawberry with chocolate chips inside covered with marshmallow on the outside. The shop owner roasts the marshmellow top layer in front of you and then you get to enjoy a completely new texture and taste of an ice cream.
One of the photozone included a BTS wallpaper as well for all the BTS fans all over the world.
There's a museum also which depicts the history of this village and its marvelous to see the development of this village from what it was in its initial years.
I use Naver maps while traveling around in Korea and this is the Gamcheon Cultural Village address:

Busan - Gamcheon Culture Village
After Jeju Island, my next destination is to Busan. Took an hour domestic flight from Jeju - Busan. Once in Busan, our tour guide had arranged a chattered bus service moving around in Busan is quite convenient. Our first visit will be Gamcheon Cultural village, one of the must visit village for new traveller. With 2 or 3 days in Busan is enough to visit top attractions and indulge with local delicious foods.
Here you need to go to roof top or higher ground of a building in order to see all those beautifully built houses with blue rooftops. A clean environment along the streets. There are many souvenir shops, arts shop, cafes, street foods and gallery showing antique collections.
I am really impressed the way they manage this village, very clean, hillside houses and friendly folks here. Will come here again once time permit me to travel in South Korea.

A village of colour 🎨
Make sure to stop by Gamcheon cultural village when in Busan! We spent an afternoon walking up and down the hills, enjoying the view and popping into the cafes, and little stores along the way. Many cafes have deck viewing points or rooftops for you to go out and take photos from a different view point. If you are a BTS fan, two of the idols originate from Busan, so you will see artwork along the way which was beautifully painted. We tried some Busan favorites like the water drop cake, honey frozen beer, and the roasted marshmallow ice cream! Luckily we could walk it all off 🤣

Gamcheon Cultural Village
Located at the southern part of Busan, Gamcheon Cultural Village offers a very unique experience for travellers, with houses aligned from top to bottom with each house decorated differently. Full of murals and figureines, it gives an impression for visitors that they have entered a wonderland in this village. There is also a stampbook for visitors to stamp on by visiting certain places, and many houses were converted either to museums, galleries, cafes, restaurants etc etc.
There are still residence staying there so visitors are advised to observe certain ground rules while visiting that area, and to prevent further disruptions to local residents, all visitors will be required to leave the village by 6pm. Nonetheless, its a very unique experience to offer when visiting the village.

Fairytale-like Town in Korea
A quaint little town in Busan, Korea.
Busan becomes my top favourite city in Asia after my 1-week trip three years ago. Surrounded by breathtaking ocean, protected by mountain greenery, while still has amazing modern cityscape. There are many beautiful places in Busan that you may enjoy the ocean breeze and people from all walks of life enjoying their lives at the beach like Gwangalli Beach, and Haeundae Beach.
One of my favourite places is Gamcheong cultural village. This is a magical little town is epitome of beauty; the pastel-coloured Lego-like houses, steep slopes and the tiny alleys. definitely a point of ticking off the following to-do activities while visiting this vibrant neighbourhood. #awesomepic #gamcheonculturevillage #korea #staycation #summervacation
Colourful Houses in Gamcheon Culture Village
This colourful village located in Busan is popular for its never-ending alleys and steep stairways amidst pastel coloured cute houses. By collaborating with local artists, the government turned the village into a tourist attraction filled with street art, handicraft shops and art galleries. There are also souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants inside the village for you to chill and have a cup of coffee!
There’s no entrance fee to the village and it’s open 24/7. But most of the shops and restaurants are open between 9am and 6pm. I recommend to allocate at least 3-4 hours in your itinerary for this village if you want to truly enjoy everything it has to offer. There’s lots of hidden alleys and cute cafes to discover.

Gamcheon Cultural Village: A Colorful Paradise with a Touching History
I had a chance to explore Gamcheon Cultural Village, just a stone's throw from Jagalchi and Nampo stations and it was a highlight of my trip while in Busan. This vibrant neighborhood is a photographer's dream, with every corner bursting with color and charm. The area is also home to some charming cafes with stunning views of the village. While the village is stunningly beautiful, it's important to remember the heartfelt story that lies behind its colorful walls.

Gamcheon Village Must Do in Busan, South Korea
We took a taxi to the famous Coffee It House to get this view of the colorful village. If you can hike a little, you will find the mural of BTS members Jungkook and Jimin on a wall. There are cute shops along the way that sell Totoro products as well as customizable items. We saw vintage bags made out of recycled beach umbrellas. There is a famous stairs called the stars stairs, it has 148 steps and when you climb up the stairs people get so dizzy they start seeing stars! Must come visit when in Busan. #btsarmy #busan #gamcheonculturevillage

There are many up/down slope and stairs at this village and if you think it is exhausting, wait till you see old grannies walking around.
Take photo of the iconic little prince with fox (long but fast moving queue) and many other wall murals. There are also many scenic places for photo taking. Every angle can be a nice background thanks to the colourful houses.

Join me in this lively and colorful village 🌈
Gamcheon Culture Village is one of the ‘mandatory’ checklist when you visit Busan. The village is known for its unique and colorful houses on the mountain. The area’s nickname is Machu Picchu of Busan (as I was told by the tour guide 😅). There are many photo spots but the most popular one is of course the prince and the fox. If you wish to take photo at this spot, please expect a long waiting line which can take up to 10-15 minutes. Got a sweet tooth? You can enjoy a variety of desserts and sweets at every corner of this village as well.#korea #busan #gamcheonculturevillage
