Beijing Day trip - fresh mountain air ⛰️
Baipu temple
We managed to go on a perfect blue sky day when Beijing was really showing its best self. It is about 84km from Sanlitun area in Beijing and we took a mini van to get there for a day trip. It’s located in the west of Beijing in Mentougou district. It took us about 2 hours to go and a little more to come back because of the traffic.
The signature building is as cool in real life as it is on pictures. Absolutely worth a trip if you like taking pictures and walk around. The place is surrounded by mountain and there are a few hikes you can do in the area. In my group of friends some of us went up to one of the peaks and some of us relaxed by the temple.
Although it’s a long drive to get there it was completely worth it in my opinion. Have been wanting to go for a long time and finally founds some friends that came along.
We were recommended to bring our own food so we had a picnic in the sun outside a very nice tea restaurant. They let us eat our food as long as we bought some drinks. 2-3 hours is enough time to walk around.

The Forbidden Palace is UNforbidden to You
One of the most noteworthy visits to make in China, is to enter The Forbidden City. Walk where Emperors once roamed thousands of years ago and be amazed at the architecture within the city.
I’ve always wanted to see the city once I realized it was the inspiration behind the city of Ba Sing Se in my fave cartoon. When touring the vast grounds, ensure you wear comfortable shoes, bring your sunglasses 🕶️ and have sunscreen lathered on. There are vending machines around to get beverages and you can pop in the gift shop to get mementos from your visit there.
One of the buildings in the forbidden city I was told, was built just by sticking the logs together like legos. It sure is surprising how it has managed to stand tall all these years-simply amazing but don’t just take my word for it, see for yourselves.

Journey to Great Heights
As we arrived at the entrance of the Great Wall Mutianyu section, anticipation filled the air. We eagerly boarded a cable chair, we hopped on a cable chair that whisked us up the majestic mountains, revealing a breathtaking panorama. The view from the walls was nothing short of extraordinary, with the beautiful mountains stretching as far as the eye could see. The intricate architecture of the wall fascinated us, a testament to the ancient craftsmanship. To descend the mountain, we embarked on an exhilarating toboggan ride, gliding down on a chair slide that felt like a thrilling rollercoaster adventure. After reaching the bottom, we made our way back to the hotel, savoring a delicious Subway meal that perfectly complemented the unforgettable experience of exploring the Great Wall of China.

#visitbeijing
When you visit Beijing it is a right of passage to eat Peking duck, but there are so many choices. Modern fine dining, family restaurants, chain restaurants or old traditional (very touristy spots)
After trying 4 different spots in my visits to Beijing I would recommend going to a touristy one and asking to go in the kitchen. the old ovens are really cool and the staff love to show you what they are doing.
My favorite was at Bei xiang feng hutong 11.
Liqun roast 🦆🦆🦆!

Beijing - at least one in a life time
#visitbeijing
Beijing is huge, so have a plan for where you want to go if you don't go on a tour.
Be aware that there are a lot of people and visitors to the famous place, both international and Chinese travelers. Make sure you bring your umbrella + hat (Asian style) during the summer because it will be extremely hot and it hard to find a shaded area.
All the famous sightsing place in the main city such as the Forbidden City, Tiananmen, and the Temple of Heaven can be easy to reach since they are near the train station. Please buy the ticket online in advance for these because sometime, tickets are sold out early in the morning. Within the main city, there is some night market, check those out too since it is near the exit of the train.
For another farther place like Summer Palace or the Great Wall, you should book a day trip from klook because those a far away from the main city.
To me the food is ok, I'm not too into spice and oil food, you must try Beijing Duck those. It is worth to visit Bejing one in your life time.
THE GREAT WALL of 🇨🇳
Can you truly say you’ve been to China if you have not been to The Great Wall?
You: “I just came back from China”
Friend or Stranger: “Oh yeah, how was it? Did you see The Great Wall?”
You: “Oh, no but there is more to China than The Great Wall you know?”
Friend or Stranger: “Ah, so you didn’t go then. I see”
Don’t be that person folks‼️(By the way, the above ⬆️ scenario is all in good fun) I know my friends would ask if I crossed The Great Wall of China off the bucket list if I had it on the list in the first place.
Anyway, if being on your bucket list isn’t enough reason for you to see this world-renowned landmark, go for the journey via cable cars so you can see surrounding forest. Add to the fact that you’re literally standing on a prolific work of art that stretches on for miles and miles. I went to the Badaling section which I was told is a popular section of the wall. July was when I went and luckily it was raining on the way but it cleared up enough for us to patrol the steps up and down. When you go, just be sure to stop and take it all in, really be in the moment. For if you go and all you did was take a couple pictures, it won’t be worth it. It should be one of your most memorable experiences. ☺️ Follow on IG for more pics @Crimson21_ (Don’t forget that underscore)

Daxing Airport
Daxing Airport is a new airport in Beijing. It’s located in a quite remote area.
The best and the quickest way to get there - subway. But the city subway lines don’t go there. You need to change the lines, buy a separate ticket (40 rmb), and use the special line that goes directly to the airport. Trains are very comfortable, with soft seats and with lots of space for the luggage.
The airport itself is huge and modern. You will be able to find everything you need. Baby care rooms are very convenient.
But the gem of Daxing Airport is it’s library. There are lots of books in different languages there and different cozy areas for reading.
It’s a good place to spend some time in a pleasant atmosphere before the flight ✈️.

Culture Shock 😯in the most intriguing way
Posing outside the Mao Zedong Mausoleum in Tiananmen Square in Beijing led to the above photos. This visit was worthwhile as I learnt much from my visit. For starters, I had no idea before visiting that he was the founder of the People’s Republic of China and to think I was spending money with his face on the cover 🫢 Now I know better.
Learn about China’s rich culture from its current capital. Little tidbit I didn’t know before traveling here, is that Chairman Mao was embalmed and put on display here. Spooky 👻 but worthwhile to… #visitbeijing #2023travelwish #summervacation #dragonboatfestival #tiananmensq #tripblazers

📍How to get there: Park View Green Shopping Center , Chaoyang district.
Hotel and an art gallery in one place! First floor of the hotel is opened to all the visitors and works like an exhibition hall. That place is very famous among tourists because of the unusual statue of Buddha. This statue is made of thousands colorful strings. It’s really unique and impressive! But it’s not the only one masterpiece there. There are also others modern art statues and pictures in the hotel.
Atmosphere is really great. The place is not overcrowded, so there is enough space to walk all around and enjoy the view.

Exploring the Fourth World Woman Convention Memorial Park in Huairou, Beijing.
I had the pleasure of visiting the enchanting Fourth World Woman Convention Memorial Park nestled along the serene banks of the Huai River in Huairou, Beijing. This unique park, with its captivating themes, proved to be an unforgettable experience.
As I strolled through the park, I couldn't help but marvel at the meticulously planned areas for senior fitness, women and children's relaxation, and even a vibrant children's activity square.

The Beautiful Beihai
#visitbeijing #tripblazers #urbanexplorer
A beautiful place to visit on a warm afternoon in Beijing is Beihai park. Just in between the Drum tower and Imperial Palace is where this green space is situated. We loved spotting all the old palace structures dotted around the park, and even got to find the hidden 9 dragon tablet which is tucked away in some trees. Climb up to the Tibetan style mountain tower for a beautiful view of the forbidden palace.
The park is only 5 yuan entry in off peak season (but still only 10 yuan per person in peak season starting in April) we highly recommend a visit.
Get lost in Beijing’s Hutongs
#Visitbeijing #urbanexplorer #tripblazers #beijing
If you’re in need of a place for a beautiful and historic afternoon stroll in Beijing, then the Hutongs are the place to go. Originally built in the Qing dynasty for the officers and generals of the forbidden palace, now they are lived in by real families. These small winding streets are typical to Beijing and a real local experience. Although some of the Hutongs have been taken over by various food and tourist shops, we recommend taking a wander around the less beaten track to explore all the individuality to each of the doors. A lovely place to visit for a truthful slice of Beijing living.

Impressive immersive exhibition! There are 2 floors with different rooms and locations. The game of shadow and lights create an incredible atmosphere. It’s a real art! Colors create different shapes and images, they look like alive and you feel like in the miracle world. Some rooms represent Japanese art style and exhibit only pictures. Some of the rooms are decorated with the objects (like balloons or chairs) that you can touch.
It’s a very interesting experience. If you have never tried it it’s never late to do it.

Old Beijing, Hutongs, and the Forbidden City
🏯 Embarking on a captivating stroll through the historic heart of Beijing, I discovered the enchantment of Old Beijing, the charm of its winding Hutongs, and the awe-inspiring grandeur of the Forbidden City. Join me as I unravel the rich tapestry of China’s ancient capital.
🚶♀️ Each step through the narrow Hutongs felt like a journey back in time. These traditional alleyways, lined with traditional courtyard homes and hidden gems, showcased the city’s rich heritage. I marveled at the architectural marvels, soaking in the stories whispered by the weathered bricks and intricate doorways.
🌸 The fragrance of steaming street food filled the air as I wandered, enticed by the vibrant culinary scene. From sizzling dumplings to aromatic teas, every bite was a symphony of flavors, a celebration of Beijing’s culinary traditions.
🏯 Finally, I arrived at the magnificent Forbidden City, a living testament to China’s imperial past. Its towering gates and sprawling courtyards left me in awe. Walking in the footsteps of emperors, I marveled at the ornate palaces, intricate artwork, and meticulously landscaped gardens.
📸 With my camera in hand, I captured the intricate details of the Forbidden City, the colorful lanterns adorning the Hutongs, and the timeless beauty of Old Beijing. These photographs are not just snapshots; they are a visual diary of an unforgettable journey through history.
