Jiuzhaigou is stunning year-round, but I recommend you to go in autumn (September–November) because it is especially famous for its vibrant fall foliage, when you can see the reflection of mountains and trees in the valley. Jiuzhaigou is beautiful year around, the winter season transforms the area into a snowy paradise. The winter season has its own beauty with less crowd. You may experience Jiuzhaigou’s beauty in a more tranquil and relaxed environment. However, the walkways are quite slippery and need to be extra cautious. The park is well managed with shuttle buses, toilet and paved walkways. The valley is indeed Y-shaped, divided into three main sections: Rize Valley (Right upper), Zechawa valley (Left upper) and Suzheng Valley (main branch). Tourists can rent Tibetan costumes and the services are more likely to found in Suzheng valley and Rize valley. You may rent the costumes from the shop outside the park too. Sharing my itinerary so maybe it can help you! One thing i have to highlight is that be prepared for altitude sickness. Elevation goes to around 3500m and I could already feel it on the train heading to jiuzhaigou and the bus route has lots of turns and during the rest stop i had to 🤢 🤢 so if you have any meds make sure to take it BEFORE!! Journey: Chongqing (shapingba station) to chengdu east station (1h) Chengdu east station to huanglongjiuzhai station (1h50m) Huanglongjiuzhai station to jiuzhaigou scenic area by bus (2h) P.S you can buy bus tickets directly from trip and when you reach you can find the bus driver on the right hand side, just tell him your last 4 digits phone number. (Don’t need a local number just your singapore one is fine) The bus will stop at multiple places within the scenic area, so you can tell your driver where your hotel is and ask which stop. Arrival (Night) If you are like me and the altitude hits hard, take it easy. Have lots of rest, eat soupy stuff and eat chocolate! Even a snickers bar or something with sugar and chocolate helps. For us we arrived at our hotel around like 8pm so my boyfriend went out to takeaway dinner at a nearby restaurant while i just rested. Day 1 Most hotels in the area offer free transport to the lake so make use of that, because i wasnt feeling so well we left at around 11 but would definitely recommend leaving at 9:30-10 to make the most out of your day. The shape of the park is a Y so after you go through the park bus will take you to the fork which is near nourilang waterfall. There you can decide which route you want to take. For us, we stayed on the bus and took us all the way to the top of the right side. Because the valley and the forest were closed, the furthest they take you is Arrow Bamboo Lake. From Arrow bamboo lake you can walk all the way down to pearl shoal waterfall and then taking the bus to mirror lake and then back to the nuorilang bus terminal. If you aren’t the hiking type, theres a bus stop at every area so not to worry! All in all we took about 3 hours doing that entire right section. After the right side, you can do the left side by taking a bus which will take you to long lake. This is the highest point at 3200m so be careful with altitude sickness. I didn’t feel as sick but i was so dizzy and my head hurt. The journey is about 30mins. We didn’t stay for long because by this time it was nearly 4pm and the workers were telling us theres not much time left before the park closes. So we just stayed in the viewpoint area, took a few pics and went back on the bus. The next stop is the 5 colored lake, we got dropped off at the top of the lake and walked down to the bus stop where we were taken back to the bus terminal. Im not sure if its cuz its winter but those were the only 2 places we could visit on the left side. After this, the bus took us straight to the exit and that was the end of our visit to jiuzhaigou, we reached back to the entrance at 5:30pm That night we walked over to the tourist part of the town and had Mcdonalds for dinner 🤪🤪 took a didi back to our hotel and ended the night. Day 2 Our train from huanglongjiuzhai was at 1pm so we left the hotel at around 10am. We met a didi driver the night before who said he would take us straight to the station for 200 yuan and we took it. But i also asked the hotel what option there was and theres a bus you can book thru wechat but trip also has tickets you can get. Things i would have done better - visited nourilang before going up to the left side. We thought we could stop by before going to the exit but because its towards closing they drove us straight to the exit - dressed up in the tibetan clothes, usually wouldn’t recommend but i saw many girls getting dressed up and i regret not actually doing it - would probably recommend 2 days to visit jiuzhaigou because it felt kind of rushed theres the whole section of the park heading towards the exit that you can explore but i made do with just looking out the window of the bus 😂😂 Anyways thats all for now! The last day of 2023 was significant.A trip to Songpan city then Jiuzhai valley was one of the unforgettable experiences.You’re arriving to the valley and each and every corner of it is full of magic and stunning views. We started our trip from Songpan by taking a private taxi .When we arrived we o the valley ,we purchased the tickets on the spot and started our exploration by taking a shuttle bus and on the half way we decide to explore the place by walk. JiuZhaiGou is another 5A tourist destination that is well worth visiting. The name JiuZhaiGou is Chinese for 'Nine Village Valley' because in the past, there were nine Tibetan villages along these streams. Our plan is to take a train from Chengdu to Huanglong in the morning. After touring Huanglong, we will take a bus parked next to the hotel to JiuZhaiGou and stay for one night to fully explore JiuZhaiGou before returning to Chengdu.

I've heard the saying, "When you come back from Jiuzhaigou, you won't look at water anywhere else." I was curious to see how beautiful it would be. At the beginning of 2024, when Visa was free, I had the chance to visit. I have to say that it's as beautiful as its reputation. So beautiful! Wow! So beautiful that I forgot all about the fatigue from traveling for about 8 hours from Chengdu. Everything is incredibly beautiful, from the water, mountains, trees, and rocks that come together and are so beautiful! There are so many tourist spots in the park, but the highlights that you can't miss are the Five-Color Lake, Mirror Lake, Long Lake, Peacock Lake, Rhino Lake, and many more. I want everyone to come see it with their own eyes. Cameras can't capture all the beauty. Even during the low season, it's still so beautiful! If you have the chance, you have to go. At least once in your life. I guarantee that it's worth it. ⛳️ Recommended season: Jiuzhaigou is beautiful in every season, but the most popular season to go is when the leaves change color. #chinatrip The Huanglongjiuzhai station, which opened on September 1, is the newest station providing direct access to Jiuzhaigou, along with Songpan station. Previously, travelers had to take the high-speed train to Zhenjiangguan and then drive 4-5 hours to reach Jiuzhaigou. With this new station, travel time is reduced by about 2 hours, allowing for more time to explore Huanglong National Park. If tickets to Huanglongjiuzhai are sold out, you can opt to stop at Songpan and take a bus or Didi to either Huanglong National Park or Jiuzhaigou, and of course the major highlight of the journey from Huanglongjiuzhai to Jiuzhaigou is the stunning scenery along the way. The main trail through the park stretches about 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) from the entrance to the summit. It takes around 4-5 hours to complete, depending on your pace and stops along the way. The trail is relatively well-maintained, with both paved paths and wooden boardwalks, making it accessible for most fitness levels. Starting from the entrance, you’ll first walk through lush forests, home to various wildlife such as squirrels and birds. As you ascend, you'll encounter stunning terraced pools filled with vibrant blue, green, and yellow mineral-rich water, known as "calcite travertine formations." These pools, including popular spots like Five-Color Pond and Mirror Pond, are some of the most photographed in the park. At the higher elevations, particularly near the Huanglong Temple and Golden Sand, you’ll notice cooler temperatures and thinner air, as the park’s highest point is about 3,500 meters above sea level. Many visitors choose to take the cable car to the top and hike down, which helps avoid altitude sickness. However, if you prefer a more challenging hike, starting from the base and trekking up is also an option. Along the way, you can explore historical and cultural sites, such as ancient Buddhist temples, which add depth to the hike. super lucky to get good weather on our day of visit. on the mountains and highlands, you’re never sure of what weather you’re gonna get, the day before it was all rainy. anyway the whole scenic area of JZG is simply breath taking, the good weather was a bonus for great pictures and walk. the lake showcase different shades of blue and green, very pristine. prob will look better in a couple of months when the water level rises. great to see the mgmt taking good care of the place. lotsa good and shopping inside too concentrated at nuorilang. #jiuzhaigou #九寨沟

Huanglong - Huanglong On a rainy day We bought tickets at the Ticket Office, 140Y per person, entrance fee + cable car (one way). When we reached the top, we bought a 20Y electric car ticket (paid by Alipay, Wechat, cash, except credit cards). We walked all the way up to the Huanglong Stream, then walked along the path down. The path is beautiful (be careful of AMS, altitude sickness). If you come to visit Huanglong, I recommend staying in Songpan. You can travel back and forth from Songpan. Or leave early in the morning to visit Huanglong and then sleep in Jiuzhaigou. In Jiuzhaigou, we stayed at Holiday Inn Express (Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area), 500m from the entrance to Jiuzhaigou Valley. Near restaurants, food, and breakfast. Book through Trip.com. Rent a car Songpan- Huanglong- Jiuzhaigou 1,000Y 7-seater car (depending on the size of the car). Getting There - we took a Van from Chengdu to huanglong first about 5 hours drive, we stayed there then next day we went to Jiuzhaigou 2 hour drive. Can fly from Chengdu. Attractions - beautiful sceneries Hotels - I recommend stayed at the base of Jiuzhaigou the holiday inn was clean and convenient. Food & Restaurants - there are a few restaurants around the area, the beef hot pot was amazing. Shopping - not much shopping to do but we got some Yak milk tea powder and Jersey.

#timetotravel Wow.. After a long day of sight seeing, this is something nice to cap our night. It was such an awesome cultural show which is vibrant, colorful and full of dancing and singing. I was really entertained despite being knackered from walking all day. It woke me up and gave me energy. I super loved the different performances and their cultural wears were really gorgeous. This is a must see when you go to Jiuzhaigou, a little something to know more about their local culture. The length of the show isn't too long as well so no need to worry of sitting down for too long in the cold. Yes, there ia no heating inside if you are going in winter so better wrap up still. Jiuzhaigou Valley scenic area, 🚩north Sichuan province in the beautiful Aba mountains ⛰ There is clear water and there is Jiuzhaigou pristine turquoise water 🏞. Absolutely beautiful scenery like I have seen nowhere else, the pictures don't do it justice. 🚌 At the beginning of your trip take the bus to the last stop and hike your way back to the entrance total walking distance appx 26km, but If you get tired, every 2km or so there is a bus stop where you can get a bus to the next POI. ​🏃try to walk on the paths on the mountain rather than road side for better sun protection ☀️ 😎sunglasses and hat are a must.
