Dades Valley
The Dadès Gorges, located in the southern part of Morocco, were once under the sea millions of years ago. This valley was surrounded by a large amount of sediment around coral reefs. Over time, with the movement of the Earth's crust, the sea water dried up, giving rise to the Dadès Gorges. With its unusual mountainous landscapes and notorious winding roads through steep gorges, the Dadès Valley has become a must-visit checkpoint for travelers who admire natural wonders.
The Orange City of Morocco 🍊🍊🍊
Ait Benhaddou is called the “Orange City” because it is located on a hill that is constantly exposed to sunlight. When sunlight hits the city, the buildings made of red mud turn bright orange all over the city. Although the city is hot because of the sunlight, when we enter the buildings, it is not hot at all because these buildings do not absorb heat and instead feel cool. #Morocco #quarzazate #aitbenhaddou #kasbahofaitbenhaddou #tripแจกโรงแรมฟรี
Hollywood of Africa!
Ait Benhaddou is a fortified city, or Ksar, that was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. This city is located on the southern slopes of the High Atlas between the cities of Marrakech and Ouarzazate. It is characterized as a small village or town with buildings made of red sun-dried mud. The layout of the buildings is compact and closely set, with only a few larger buildings that are distinctively carved, possibly indicating they were castles or towers of the city. Each building is strategically constructed in a row to form a defensive wall by the warrior tribes controlling the Atlas Mountains. It is believed to have been built in the 17th century and was once a residential community area and a strategic military location with the Mellah River on the left side of the city, surrounded by the Ounila Valley. The city has been used as a filming location for over 20 movies, including Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, Gladiator, Game of Thrones, The Mummy, and many more since 1963.
Quarzazate Film City
Musée de Cinema
This is a small exhibition about the film industry in Ouarzazate, including costumes and other props. It is an alternative if you do not have time to visit the large studios outside the city. On the way back from the Sahara Desert, we stayed here for 1 night before continuing our journey to Ait Ben Haddou.
