Best Chinese City in Autumn

See Beijing when it turns to gold!
The Golden Gingko trees line the parkway. If you ever enjoyed jumping in leaves as a kid, this fun will continue on your next trip to Beijing, China. Plan your next fall trip to this city of ancient wonders.
The Gingko biloba tree (银杏) grows beautiful fan shaped leaves. Their shapes are unique to Asia since they are a prehistoric species. In Autumn, these leaves famously turned into gold. The leaves will stay on the trees a few weeks which make for beauty fall foliage scenes.
Where can we find these yellow leaves?
The city centre around The Palace Museum is dotted with lanes and lines of these Gingko trees. If you want a comfortable place to go for photos and leisure take my suggestion and head to Beihai Park.

📍 The Dining Room at @thegoring
With its grandiose interior, impeccable service and traditional yet refined Michelin star food, the Dining Room really is the place if you want to feel like royalty for a few hours.
The restaurant is unsurprising pricey, but you are very much paying for the experience and not just food. It’s also worth noting they do offer a slightly more affordable 3-course pre-theatre menu for £80 as well as the regular a la carte menu.
So what do you think… Is this a restaurant you would splurge on? 👀

🇱🇰 Safari Ride through Minneriya National Park
Minneriya National Park, located in Sri Lanka’s north-central province, is home to hundreds of Asian elephants that thrive near the ancient Minneriya Tank, a reservoir constructed about 1,700 years ago. One of the best ways to experience the park’s rich wildlife and scenic beauty is by taking a safari jeep ride. We rented a jeep from Sigiriya and arrived at the park entrance within an hour. Our journey took us through forested areas until we reached the Minneriya Tank, where we saw herds of elephants and buffaloes by the water. The open-air jeep offered us an unobstructed view of the landscape and wildlife.

Insta worthy high-end hotel where you can snap pictures for the price of a drink

Crazy burial rites at Lake Toba
The burial practices around Lake Toba are a bit mind-blowing. The Batak people have unique rites and family tomb has a few levels.
When someone new in the family dies, their body is placed on the lowest level, while older family members are moved up to higher levels.
On the top level, only bones are kept, piled together. And what's interesting - they are Christians.
It’s a cultural experience that’s both eerie and beautiful, making you think about life, death, and family in a new way.
One more interesting thing to note is that such tombs a randomly scattered around the entire Samosir island, rather than be accumulated at one place like a cemetery.
