Best Ancient Ruins
#familytravel
We're a family with an interest in history and archeology. So it was natural to include Ephesus into our itinerary. This is an extraordinary excavation site. It's a nice example of how life and things were like back when this town was part of the Greek empire.
Since it was a family trip, getting a guide made a lot of sense. I did see people with audio guides too. So if you prefer that's an option too. We went to the museum in Selçuk the day before so had some idea what we were looking at. The information boards were good and Google is pretty helpful in preparing us.
You need to get an early start if you wish to enjoy this. It does get terribly hot as the day progresses. Male sure you carry enough water and something to snack on. This can take time. Also, i recommend starting with down side, so that you can save the best parts like the amphitheater, agora and library for later. Also, book tickets well in advance. That always helps save time.

Ancient City of Ephesus
#fallingseason
About 30 minutes from the port of Kusadasi is the ancient city of Ephesus. Ancient Ephesus has almost 300,000 residents and was an incredibly important city in the ancient Roman Empire. Words cannot describe how amazing this site is - only 10% is excavated, and we could see excavation vehicles still working while we were there. Historically important figures like Marc Antony, Cleopatra, and Apostle Paul once walked these streets!

get lost in the lost city of Ephesus
this is an incredible ancient treasure located just outside the seaside town of Izmir turkey. well before the collapse of the ottoman empire this city was a port town city inhabited by the ancient Romans. Walk down the original streets thousands of years old as though you were walking in the streets of ancient Rome. You’ll be amazed by all the small theaters and large coliseums ocean pillars will tower above you with Roman design and spectacular Roman architecture. This trip is an entire day trip as leave yourself plenty of time to walk that almost 40 km of pathways, Corredor‘s and ancient paths. if you’re lucky enough to stay for the sunset I highly recommend you do. Transportation is easy as there is a train that arrives in the town straight from Izmir. everything that you need to see is clearly marked in English if you’re traveling from the United States. Patron the local souvenir shops at the beginning of this magnificent journey. #izmir #turkeytravel #turkey #ephesus #optoutside

Unveil Hierapolis: Your Gateway to Ancient Rome! 😉
I had a truly impressive experience while traveling to Ephesus. Thanks to a friendly guide, I was able to deeply understand the history of ancient Rome and feel the stories of that time while exploring various ruins. I also took photos to capture the memories, and the grandeur of ancient times was still palpable, which was moving. I would highly recommend this place to everyone visiting!

Ephesus, Walking through History
Exploring the ancient city of Ephesus was like stepping into history. Walking through the marble streets, I was amazed by the well-preserved ruins, from the grand Library of Celsus to the impressive Great Theatre. The sheer size of the structures made me feel like I was walking in the footsteps of people who lived thousands of years ago.
The intricate carvings and columns told stories of the past, while the calm surroundings gave me a sense of connection to the ancient world. I stood in awe at the Temple of Artemis, imagining how magnificent it must have once been. The highlight of my visit was standing in the theater, where I could almost hear the echoes of performances that once took place there.
As I wandered through the city, I couldn’t help but marvel at how Ephesus had once been a thriving center of culture and commerce. The experience left me with a deep respect for the people who built this remarkable city, and I left feeling grateful for the chance to walk through such an incredible piece of history.

Ephesus, The Ancient city in Izmir Turkey
Ephesus is an ancient city of Greek heritage, located in Selcuk, Izmir, Turkey. It was a beautiful city and was on my bucket list because I'm interested in culture and historical buildings. I had a chance to go there last year, on 2022 and it was an amazing place. The library of Celcus was the most famous building here and became the icon of Ephesus in many travel pictures on the internet.
