Botanical Sightseeing at Far East Flora HQ
#2024wish
You may have heard about the Far East Flora Building and its café known as F’east.
.
Even if you're not a plant lover, a trip to the recently opened Far East Flora HQ on Clementi Road might just convert you. This nine-storey building, complete with a rooftop garden, is a haven for plant enthusiasts, offering a wide variety of flora and greenery. It's not just a place to buy plants; it's like a botanical sightseeing adventure, showcasing a diverse range of plant species. Forget about paying an entrance fee at Gardens by the Bay for now – this is a simplified version of the experience right here. Haha.
.
The F’east café on the ground level echoes the brand's emphasis on plants. The ambiance is quite green, enveloping diners in a plant-filled setting. Each dining table features at least one or two plants, and real decorative plants hang from the café's ceiling. During my visit, there was even a occurrence of random leaves gently falling down.
.
I'd rate the food as 3/5, but the plant-shopping experience deserves a solid 5/5.
.
And by the way, just so you know, Far East Flora Centre offers a diverse range with over 1,000 flower varieties and 500 plant types, conveniently spread across various floors. While the ground floor showcases a collection of indoor houseplants. Gardening supplies and planting mediums are readily available too.

Hidden Gem in the East
The Coastal Settlement
Address - 200 Netheravon Rd, Singapore 508529
Ambiance/Facilities - Amazing chill vibes
Highlights - Great food, Asian and Western
Avg. Price per Person - $$
Rating - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A hidden gem in the East of Singapore , just before the changi boardwalk!
This Café/Restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seatings. It is also Pet Friendly, however only for outdoor seatings.
They have an extensive list of Alcohol, wine, cocktail and beer should you fancy a weekend brunch with booze!
My personal favourite is the “Settlement’s Big Breakfast” might even be good for two small eaters to share!
Their Singaporean food menu are also great, the TCS nasi Lemak, Hokkien Mee all boasts a lot of ingredients!
The restaurant is decorated with many antiques, cluttered yet classy!
Staffs here are incredibly attentive and polite, Service is awesome. There’s also a “call for service button” on every table so you’ll not need to wave your hands just to get attention!
I personally love coming here for brunch, but dinner is also awesome as the Alfresco area are cooling, and you can hear the wild next to you!

Pool & Gym @ Orchard Hotel
442 Orchard Rd, Singapore 238879
The swimming pool and gym is definitely a great place to spend your family time this autumn fall. You can enjoy the joy of playing in the pool with your children. The pool and gym are both located at the claymore wing level 4. That is the wing where the premier rooms are located. It is opposite the reception concierge.
There is a small round swimming pool and a bigger swimming pool with a height of 1.4 meters. The water is cold and relaxing. To my surprise there were more than 30 suntanning beds for you to enjoy the sun.
The gym is located just beside the swimming pool. The gym is well equipped with dumb bell, treadmills, and other equipments to train your whole body parts. There are towels available too. Bring along your room card to get access to they gym and the pool.

Multi Racial International Breakfast
442 Orchard Rd, Singapore 238879
The orchard cafe located at orchard hotel serves a great array of international breakfast Cruisine. I am amazed by the choice of breakfast. They have Cruisine ranging from Japanese to western to Chinese, from malay to India Cruisine. I love their wide selection of bakeries with lots of muffins and butter chocolate brownies. The western food is also delicious with bitesized hash brown that is easier to bite on. They do have cold noodles that go with the soba sauce. One special point is the ready to make waffles counter manned by their chef who will then prepare the wafer according to your needs. It is a great start of the morning to have a sumptuous breakfast.

Malaysia Boleh Jiak
#b2-07/08, The Centrepoint, 176 Orchard Rd, 238843
Malaysia Boleh Jiak is located at the basement 2 of centerpoint. There are many local and Malay authentic foods. I love the Nam kee Amy yup bun which is bigger than my palm size. The chicken plus pork with an egg in it makes it flavourful and fulfilling.
I do love their desert stall, especially the thick coconut chendol which is sweet and yummy. The big red bean and the crunchy attachi makes it so refreshing.
I do love their duck meat rice as the duck is freshly prepared. The skin is oily yet juicy and the skin is crunchy. The meat is soft but yet tender. My always order food also includes the popiah. The sweet tasty shrimp paste brings out the flavour of the popiah, making it one of the best snack to have after my plate of duck rice. Do try it out to explore your favourites.

🚢 Deck 18/19 Palace suite
This will be my next cruise when I have time to go for my next cruise. The Palace suite on RW cruise. I have no idea that Palace suites have their own swimming pool and jacuzzi, away from the main pool deck. I did think of upgrading my stateroom. But then at the same time, I also want to try out the balcony stateroom and explore Genting Dream. I made a good choice and now I want to go on RW Cruise again. I reckon I will need at least 3 nights sailing on the Palace suite. The jacuzzi area is great and it is how I imagine the VIP section to be like.

🚢 Deck 7 Zodiac Theatre
A pro-tip for you, come to Deck 7 and queue early for the shows at Zodiac Theatre. Then you will be guaranteed good seats. If you are from the Palace suite, then you can come at least 10 minutes before the theatre door closes and your reserved seats will be there waiting for you. There will be a hot food and popcorn booth inside the theatre and you can buy and eat it during the show. Everyday will have a new show and if you are on a short sailing trip, you will have to come, else you will miss out on the show. There are also other shows which are payable. These shows at the Zodiac Theatre are included for every passengers.

🚢 Docking at MBCC
My day 3 on the sea and it means my arrival day back in Singapore. It is also a good idea to depart/arrive at MBCC because it is spacious and has a large waiting area for passengers. There are also MRT and public bus options to come here on a budget. I will prefer the public bus option because the bus stop is right outside MBCC. If you are taking the MRT, after you alight you can take the public bus and the distance will be 1 bus stop distance. Having a balcony stateroom means you can have a nice view of the MBCC or the MBS area. Watch my vlog to find out which bus to take.

🚢 Deck 18 Secret balcony
I love this hidden deck 18 on RW Cruise because you can get great views overlooking the pool deck. Then from both sides, you can get good views on the jetties when the cruise dock at various locations. I got some nice photos of Boustead Cruise Center at Port Klang. The cruise did not allow us to disembark, besides it is only a 2 nights cruise so it might be too rush to disembark. On the same section on Deck 19, it is also a lounge area for the Palace suite guests, a lobby lounge to enjoy high tea and drinks. There were no restrictions on entering the Palm Court lounge when I was there. You can enter and take a sneak peak at the Palace suite pool area.

🚢 Games on Genting Dream
Don’t forget about playing games on Genting Dream. It is not just entertainment for the adults but it is also family friendly too. You can play for free with their water slides and there is even archery for you to try. Just take note that these are outdoor activities so please put on sunblock to protect yourself. It is also advisable not to play on the slides right after meals. They also have arcade games for you to enjoy and you just need to pay for it. It is pretty awesome to see a wide selection of arcade games on board. Nobody is going to get bored on Genting Dream. Have fun! Try out cruising!

Jianghu Hotpot
Want to have steamboat but your friends also want to have grilled fish instead? Why not consider coming to JiangHu Hotpot where you can have thr best of both world?
There are currently only two outlets here in Singapore and the one we went was at Orchard Getway, which is coinevencely located at the main shopping district of Singapore. There are buffets available as well and sauces you can also take them yourself and mix in to your preference. We ordered a grilled fish this time as the fish looks really big and we are able to add on ala cart ingredients into the soup bases to cook it too so it kind of feel like having steamboat anyway.
The fish was really huge and fresh, we really like how the fish separated from the fish bone easily when we eat as well. They do have queues sometimes and we were fortunate enough to come earlier to aviod it.
Do come here to try the food if you are nearby!

Local hawker delights in MBS
Address - Rasapura Masters Food Court, Marina Bay Sands, 10 Bayfront Avenue, B2-49A/50-53, Singapore 018956
Situated in the basement of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Rasapura Masters is a huge food court that wraps around the atrium with the chandelier. With a wide variety of cuisines to choose from, you will definitely spend a bit of time just looking through the options.
I highly recommend the fried chicken wings even though the queue and waiting time for it can be quite long. Some dishes from the other stalls were a miss, like the noodles from the mixed rice stall. It can get quite crowded during meal times to the point where you even have to wait for tables so avoid those time slots if you can!
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Quality cafe in a quaint 🇸🇬 neighborhood
Joo Chiat is a quaint neighbourhood a little far-flung from the city centre, but definitely worth the ride to check out the pastel shophouses on Koon Seng Road and plenty of aesthetic cafes 🌈
We decided to visit @commonmancoffee and tried to skip the lunch crowd by arriving at around 1:40pm, but still had to wait for 2 tables 🥲 The sizable place was full of people both indoors and indoors with a never-ending queue (they don’t take reservations) 🫣 Prices were not cheap, but (almost) everything was damn delicious and the huge portions left us walking away super full 🤰
𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫
Found on the lunch menu served from 10am to 5pm, this was SO GOOD! We loved how the unique beetroot BBQ sauce added a sweet tanginess to the juicy beef patty while the herbed fries were so flavorful that we didn’t really need any ketchup 🍔🍟
𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤
The all-day breakfast menu had so many options we wanted to try, but we finally decided on the creamy buttermilk pancakes that came with a seasoned butter, which was absolutely sensational 🥞 Dipping the crispy bacon into syrup was SUCH a guilty pleasure and we probably ate more than we should have 🥓🍯
𝐋𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐲𝐦𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐤𝐞
This looked super aesthetic but was a little disappointing in terms of taste, as the icing made the cake a little too sugary and artificial 🥴 SKIP!
𝐏𝐁&𝐉 𝐒𝐦𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐞
The 🍌 flavour was actually quite prominent over the peanut butter while the consistency was thinner than what I expected 😲 Still enjoyed this though!
𝐀𝐛𝐞𝐛𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨, 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐚
There was a huge range of regional coffees that you could pick after scanning the QR code on the menu ☕️ As a non-coffee lover, this flavour that my friend chose was probably the best I’ve ever tasted, as the hints of bergamot and apricot made the slow-brew not bitter at all 👏🏻 Plus the coffee tasting card was also super cute~

Homade Icecream Parlor
Address: Dopa Dopa Creamery, 29 South Bridge Rd, #01-01, Singapore 058665
Snug icecream parlor along southbridge selling homemade ice cream with a variety of creative flavours.
We ordered:-
1. Butter Crumble - 10/10 Creamy buttery gelato base with salted cookie crumble. It was milky and is well balanced with sweet and salty notes. It tasted like butter scotch!
2. White Peach Sorbet - 10/10 Fruity and nuanced peach sorbet. It's Dairy Free! The taste is very mild and it's perfect for people who wants a cold treat but not feel sinful.
The employees were all friendly! Do note that the icecream melts really quickly with the Singapore weather.
