Zhou Li Lao Ya Fen Si Tang
#shinsider
My wife and I were in Shanghai China for a holiday. During one of the days there, before proceeding to the next place of interest in Shanghai, we went to get our lunch. We came across this stall called 妯娌老鸭粉丝汤 Zhou Li Lao Ya Fen Shi Tang. It has a simple yet nice setup. We went in to try.
The specialty of the stall is of course its duck vermicelli. The vermicelli was served in a bowl of soup along with ingredients like duck blood and toufu. I don't eat duck blood and toufu and I ordered a bowl for my wife. I asked my wife how was the taste and she said its yummy.
I myself ordered a bowl of rice with chicken slices. It was quite nice too.

I came over to Shanghai to find my wife as she was studying for a course there. We intend to travel there for awhile before going over to her hometown. When I reached there, she was at school studying. Thus, I was all alone. I was hungry and thus went to outside of hotel to find some food to eat.
As I was walking along the streets, I was attracted by a big signboard saying 老上海馄饨铺 (Lao Shang Hai Hun Tun Pu). This restaurant is selling won ton. Thus, without hesitation, I went in.
The stall sell two categories of won ton, namely big and small. For each category, there are different kinds of fillings. I went ahead and ordered one bowl. It was so yummy. Seeing the photos is making me drool now.
Peace Restaurant - Shanghai, China
After walking around the bars and modern streets of Shanghai, it's time to relax and unwind in an institution with live music. Every day, at 19:30, a live jazz orchestra plays in the restaurant of the Peace Hotel, a distinctive feature of which is the age of the musicians - on average, it is 77 years old. Some of the musicians first played together in 1947. Chinese old men "tear the hall" with their jazz improvisations and mind-blowing solos on trumpets and saxophones.
Once having visited such a performance, each of us will stop complaining about age, joint pain and similar excuses that prevent us from living a full life.

Spanish resto at the B1 of Kerry Center
Located in the B1 level of Jing'an Kerry Center, Pintxos offers a wide range of Spanish food, ranging from the popular tapas - tortilla, patatas bravas, garlic shrimps - all good for sharing - to heavier main courses such as Seafood Paella or Black Squid Ink Paella.
The ambiance is what one can expect from its shopping mall location, mostly office groups taking advantage of the lunch deal or an early dinner after working hours.
The wine selection is short with just a couple different choices of red or white wine.
They compensate that with a slightly more extended cocktails list with classics such as mojito, margarita, cosmopolitan and sangria and also mocktails that seem to be very popular among diners.
Desserts such as Churros or "Torrijas" are a sweet end for the occasion.

Spanish Japanese fusion in Shanghai
Really interesting concept restaurant mixing Spanish tapas with Japanese flavors
The place is small and with a huge U-shaped bar in the middle that invites to casually dine at the bar counter.
You will be happy to do so, as you can see the bustle and hustle of bartenders and service getting dishes from the kitchen pass and coming your way as well as preparing cocktail and other drinks to accompany the food
Some of the highlights here are: Grilled Octopus, Tortilla de patatas, Seafood Paella, Grilled Miso Eggplant, Crab Txangurro and the Croquetas
Order some of their signature cocktails - with weird Japanese ingredients like katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes) - if you are into daring, bold flavors

Starters are also really good: ranging from more beef stuff like the Raw Beef Tartare to subtle flavor dishes like the Truffle Rougie Foie Gras or the Tomato Burrata
Another highlight to try is their Lobster Rice, they call it Arroz de Bogavante, paying tribute to the Spanish origin of the chef-patron, and that is precisely what we find here.

A great place to stroll 🚶
Pudong Binjiang Avenue stretches around 2.5km along Huangpu River, offering an excellent view of the Bund.
You can walk, run or cycle uninterrupted along the promenade. A nice walk with good view of the river and the Bund. Locals can be seen with kids flying kites or simply relax and enjoy at one of the many cafes along the waterfront.
If you come here in the late afternoon, you can see the beautiful sunset too. This is definitely a get-away from the crowded Shanghai centre and enjoy the flowers and green grass here. The park is very well maintained too. Will definitely recommend this for a visit.
