Scenic Monastry: Paoma Mt. Park Kangding 🇨🇳
On your first day in Kangding, I can actually highly suggest that you acclimitize first then hike up to Paoma Mt. Park. This mountain is known as the famous love song mountain in Kangding. It is really nice up there as it will give you a panoramic view of Kangding. A great activity for just a couple of hours just within the city. You don't need to go far to see a scenic view of Kangding.
There are two options on how to get to the top of the mountain. First, you can hike up if you like hiking. Second is take the cable car. If you take thr cable car then it will cost you 50rmb per person.
Once you reach the top, you will then again have to pay 50 rmb as your entrance fee so you can roam around the area. There is also a monastry up there where you can enter freely.
Enjoy your Kangding Trip.
PS. You can check my other posts on where to go in Kangding and how to get there from Chengdu.

If you are going during holiday than it is carzy traffic. It took us 14 hours. That's how busy the roads are to Kangding.
There are many attractions in the city and outside the city that requires 2-3 or even 5 hours drive. I have posted attractions in Kangding so please feel free to check them out.
Food & Restaurants - Food here is amazing. Tibetan and Chinese food are around and even some western food but not a lot of options.

Mugecuo Lake Scenic Area, Kangding 🇨🇳
What a stunning sight to behold. After an hour drive from Kangding center to its entrance and another 30 minutes bus ride to the top we reached one of Kangding's treasue - The Mugecuo Lake. It sits in an altitude of almost 4000m above sea level so coming here was a bit of a struggle for me especially when we reached the top.
Getting There - I suggest to speak to your hostel/hotel to book you a car to the entrace of Mugecuo lake. No worries because, you will be booked for a return journey so you don't have to book another car that will take you back to your hotel. For the round trip cost, you will oay around 159-200.
Entrance Fee+Bus ride : 200 per person
‼️TIPS and Warnings
1. DO not come to this place on the same day or the next day upon arrival in Kangding. Acclimitize yourself first in the city then head up. If you're under the weather like me and you don't exercise then the altitude sickness will really strike you. If you're healthy then probably you will be ok. Just listen to your body.
2. Headache, dizziness, fast heartbeat and wanting to puke are signs of altitude sickness
3. Purchase an oxygen bottle
Despite my awful altitude sickness, I still appreciate the beauty that Mugecuo Lake possesses.
Enjoy your time there!

#moonbay #kangding within the lotus sea national forest park. We visited the place when the weather was sunny. One of the highlights of g318 route.
Highly recommend this place for day trip from xinduqiao. The journey takes about 2 hours in the car. We did not camp at the place but there were a number of locals camping at the site.
Less crowded compared to the rest of tourist attractions.
