I visited Melaka’s Rich Legacy: A Cultural Journey at the Baba Nyonya Museum
#newyearnewtrip #travel #malaysia
Visiting the Baba Nyonya Museum in Melaka was an unforgettable journey into the heart of Malaysia’s rich Peranakan heritage. The Baba Nyonya culture, a fusion of Chinese and Malay traditions, traces its roots back to the 15th century when Chinese traders married local Malays, creating a unique community with its own distinct language, clothing, and cuisine. The museum is housed in an elegant, restored heritage building, offering an authentic glimpse into the lavish lifestyle of the Baba and Nyonya families of old. The intricate woodwork, traditional furniture, and delicate porcelain displays were breathtaking, each piece telling a story of cultural blending and family legacy.
I spent around 1–2 hours exploring the museum, which was the perfect amount of time to immerse myself in the history and culture of the Peranakan people. The entrance fee was RM 15 for adults and RM 10 for students, making it a very affordable way to discover a unique part of Malaysian history. The museum’s ambience was serene and immersive, with its vintage décor and peaceful atmosphere, making it feel like stepping into another era. The knowledgeable staff were friendly and eager to share insights, making the experience all the more enriching.
The museum is open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a brief break between 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. To get there, I took a short walk from Jonker Street—it’s centrally located and easy to find. It’s definitely worth making time for if you’re in Melaka, as it’s one of the best places to learn about the Baba Nyonya culture in an authentic setting.

A Diver’s Haven with Fresh Seafood Delights, Mabul
#newyearnewtrip #travelanywhere #beachlife #malaysia #sabah #sealife #seafood
Staying at Big John Scuba on Mabul Island was a perfect getaway. The warm hospitality of the team, made us feel truly welcome, while the clean and comfortable accommodations, complete with fresh towels and toiletries, ensured a relaxing stay.
The food was exceptional, but the highlight was the option to purchase fresh crabs or lobsters from the local market and have the Big John kitchen prepare them for a small fee. We savored an unforgettable seafood feast that elevated the entire experience.
Though hot water was limited to 6–7 pm and the tap water was slightly salty, these were minor inconveniences compared to the incredible diving and personalized service.
Tip: For divers and seafood lovers alike, Big John Scuba offers a unique blend of adventure and indulgence. Don’t miss the chance to dive into Mabul’s underwater beauty and enjoy a feast straight from the sea!
Kwai Chai Hong, A Trip Back in Time
#getgoing2025
Located at the back of Petaling Street, still in the Chinatown area, this newly revitalized place is a small alley filled with murals and shops. Inside the alley are six murals painted by local artists depicting the daily activities of early Chinese settlers in the area during the 1960s.
Entrance to Kwai Chai Hong might be a little bit tricky. Do you think you can find the hidden entrance of this place?

🇲🇾 Shiang Chiang Cafe in Melaka for great coffee
#malaysiatrip
This is a very famous Kopitiam in Melaka where we saw a long queue even at 3 pm ! We decided to check it out the next day early morning and there was even a queue at the early hours! The queue moved pretty fast as the friendly boss would facilitate the seating arrangements. It is a small Kopitiam but the variety of food is amazing ! Every food from each stall was surprisingly great! We loved the Nyonya laksa especially, it is fragrant, rich and has the spicy kick ! Coffee was nice too! Strong, rich and not overly sweet.

One-day tour of Kuala Lumpur indoor private amusement park
The weather in Kuala Lumpur is so hot that there is no place to go at all, and it is impossible to go to the mall every day. On the first day, I took my children and mainly visited the Jiyi Guowu Bookstore. On the second day, I found an indoor amusement park to vent their energy.
I looked at many stores on the Internet, and finally saw NextGen Theme Park. I felt that it was the largest and best one. I called a car on Ctrip. This amusement park is in a shopping mall. The mall is almost full of children's programs and institutions, and the restaurant is also very good.
The ticket is shown in the picture. Everyone must buy a pair of nonslip socks for RM11. Wearing a bracelet, you can enter and exit without restriction. Drinks can be brought in. On weekdays, a total of 10 people, a lot of staff, the service is in place, and the hygiene is very good. It can be imagined that there are two Naierbao as big. In fact, the facilities are basically the same as those in China, and the sports facilities are slightly more.
From the toddling area to the children's area, it is very large for those over 13 years old. There are also dancing karaoke and game rooms. The game room needs to be booked. Each round can be played for half an hour. If no one comes, you can play all the time.
I just want to say that it's better to stay in Phuket than to come to Kuala Lumpur in summel

🇲🇾 Atlantic Nyonya Restaurant for authentic Peranakan food!

We had one of the best Peranakan dining experiences at Atlantic Nyonya Restaurant. It was highly reviewed online and we ordered the signature dishes including ayam pongteh, ulam bendi and more. 🇲🇾 Klebang Original Coconut Shake 🥥
#newyearnewtrip
Klebang Original Coconut Shake is a must-try when anyone who is visiting Melaka! It is so refreshing and thirst-quenching for the scorching hot weather. I like how the coconut shake has bits of coconut flesh in the drink that adds texture to it. It’s also very thick with the creamy vanilla ice cream inside but not overly sweet.

I visited the Jigokudani Monkey Park, which I had always wanted to visit.
At the Jigokudani Onsen in Nagano Prefecture, you can see wild Japanese monkeys soaking in the hot spring water up close.🐒
Many mother monkeys and little monkeys were soaking in the hot spring.
I visited in mid-March, but there was still snow on the ground and beautiful scenery. Highly recommended!

Delicious Sambal Kangkong & Sting gray fish

Everything we had at Chu Cha (located at Bukit Bintang) was sooo goodddd. We started off with fresh coconut water which was refreshing and healthy. The mains were really good ESP the Sambal KangKong with Dried Shrimps & Sambal Sting gray. The restaurant is located at the popular food street in KL, Jalan Alor. It is a bit on the pricier side but definitely worth the delicious taste and cost ambience.

🇲🇾 AirAsia: The Ultimate Low-Cost Airline Experience
#favouriteairline
Having flown with several low-cost airlines, AirAsia stands out as the best choice for affordable travel. One of its key advantages is the frequency of flights, offering multiple daily options to various destinations, providing flexibility and convenience.
The in-flight meals are a pleasant surprise, always tasty and satisfying. While the seats are comfortable for short-distance flights, it's the exceptional service that truly sets AirAsia apart. Most of the staff are friendly, approachable, and always ready to assist, making the experience feel more enjoyable.
For all these reasons, AirAsia is, without a doubt, my first choice for low-cost airlines.
