#100waysoftravel
Jakarta Cathedral Church, or officially named the Cathedral Church of Saint Mary Assumption (Dutch: De Kerk van Onze Lieve Vrouwe ten Hemelopneming; English: The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption) is a Catholic cathedral church located in Central Jakarta, Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. This church building was inaugurated in 1901 and built with neo-gothic architecture from Europe, which is an architecture that is very commonly used to build church buildings several centuries ago.
This museum was inaugurated on April 28, 1991 by Mgr Julius Darmaatmadja. The creation of the Cathedral Museum was initiated by the head priest of the Cathedral at that time, Father Rudolf Kurris. This began with Kurris' love for history and historical objects. According to him, these historical objects can arouse human awe of the past and his desire to pass on knowledge from generation to generation. The Cathedral Museum was previously located in the balcony of the Cathedral, but has now been moved to the old rectory, the north side of the church or Plaza Maria.

The Marvel of Sagrada Familia: A Journey Through Gaudí’s Masterpiece
The Sagrada Familia, Antoni Gaudí's unfinished basilica in Barcelona, is a stunning testament to architectural genius and a must-visit landmark for anyone exploring the city. With its intricate designs, towering spires, and vibrant stained glass, this iconic church is a celebration of both faith and creativity.
Construction of the Sagrada Familia began in 1882, and Gaudí took over the project in 1883, transforming it with his visionary style. What sets this basilica apart is Gaudí's unique blend of Gothic and Art Nouveau elements, making it a one-of-a-kind structure. The church’s design is inspired by nature, with columns resembling trees that branch out to support the ceiling, creating an ethereal forest-like atmosphere inside.
As you approach the Sagrada Familia, the intricate details of its facades will leave you in awe. The Nativity Facade, dedicated to the birth of Christ, is adorned with vibrant sculptures depicting scenes from the Bible. In contrast, the Passion Facade, representing Christ's crucifixion, features stark, angular designs that evoke a sense of solemnity. Each facade tells a different story, inviting visitors to appreciate the artistry and symbolism embedded in the stone.
Stepping inside the Sagrada Familia is like entering a dream. The interplay of light and color from the stained glass windows creates a mesmerizing display, filling the space with a warm, spiritual glow. The high ceilings, adorned with intricate patterns, draw the eye upward, making you feel both small and connected to something greater. Gaudí envisioned the interior as a representation of a natural landscape, with light and space designed to evoke a sense of peace and reflection.
Although construction has continued for over a century, the Sagrada Familia is expected to be completed in the coming years. Despite its unfinished status, the basilica is a UNESCO World Heritage site and attracts millions of visitors annually. The ongoing work is a testament to Gaudí’s enduring legacy and the dedication of artisans and architects who strive to bring his vision to life.
Visiting the Sagrada Familia is an unforgettable experience that combines art, architecture, and spirituality. Whether you’re marveling at its towering spires, exploring the intricacies of its facades, or finding solace in its serene interior, the Sagrada Familia is a masterpiece that leaves a lasting impression. A trip to Barcelona is incomplete without witnessing this architectural wonder, a true symbol of the city’s rich cultural heritage.

The Smallest Chapel ⛪️ I ever visited 🇨🇦
#churches #100waysoftravel
I have a chance to visit the Smallest Chapel in Niagara, often referred to as the Little Chapel, Living Water Wayside Chapel!
It has an endearing story that adds to its charm. Located at 1458 Niagara Stone Road in Niagara-on-the-Lake, this quaint chapel was constructed in the early 20th century by a local resident named Frank G. Smith. Designed with an intimate and personal touch, the chapel is notable for its modest size, able to accommodate only a small group of people at a time.
Its diminutive scale has made it a popular choice for small, private ceremonies, particularly weddings, where couples seek a unique and personal setting. Over the years, the chapel has been lovingly maintained, preserving its original character and making it a beloved landmark in the Niagara region. The Little Chapel stands as a testament to the charm and appeal of intimate, bespoke venues.
Really nice little cosy chapel.

One of the best experience of an English traditional Anglican church service I had. The traditional service is with a fuller liturgy, but not too overwhelmed by the minutiae, the sermon was short but gospel-centred and Christ-exalting, the worship was meaningful, Scripturally guided, and God-directed. It would seem transport you back to the old Anglo-Saxon time, except in St Mary’s you will find a beautiful harmony of multi-races and social statuses all gathered for the glory of God alone, without discrimination, without pretence, only the King of kings is the centre.
