Epic hiking in Tunkinskiy National Park
Visiting Tunkinskiy National Park was amazing. I spent two weeks hiking, and it felt like stepping into the wild. There are no marked trails, so you really have to know where you're going and be okay with figuring things out as you go. It’s not easy, but that’s what made it so special. I loved the feeling of being so far from everything, just surrounded by nature.
The park is peaceful, with big forests, rivers, and mountains. But, honestly, you need to be prepared. The routes are tough, and if you don’t know how to navigate well, it can be tricky.
I really enjoyed the challenge, though. It was more than just a hike—it was like being part of nature, not just a tourist passing through. If you’re up for an adventure, I’d say it’s definitely worth it, but just make sure you’re ready for the real wilderness.

Can anything be better than mountains?
The Annapurna Circuit Trek was such an unforgettable experience. I did it over 18 days, taking it slow, and that was definitely the way to go. I did a bunch of short side treks, which gave me time to enjoy the views and get used to the altitude. The landscapes were incredible—everything from forests to huge snowy mountains.
It was tough at times, especially with the altitude and the long hikes, so I was really glad I did it with a group of friends. Even though it was challenging, I’m so happy I did it.
Thorong La Pass at 5416m is still the highest Ive hiked so far. So proud of it, surely will try to beat it on another hike 😁

🇨🇭 Picturesque Vitznau Pier on the shores of Lake Lucerne
Vitznau Pier, nestled on the serene shores of Lake Lucerne in the idyllic Swiss village of Vitznau, is a true gem. Conveniently located near the terminus of the historic cogwheel train from Mount Rigi, it serves as a key departure point for scenic boat cruises on Lake Lucerne. These cruises provide breathtaking views of charming lakeside villages, majestic castles, and the surrounding alpine landscapes. From the pier, visitors can marvel at the crystal-clear waters of the lake, framed by Mount Rigi and the towering peaks of the Swiss Alps. The lush green hills and tranquil atmosphere make Vitznau Pier a picture-perfect destination.

Magic of Altay mountains
I hiked to Belukha Mountain in Altay, Russia, and it was honestly one of the most unforgettable experiences I've had. The journey took me 12 days, covering around 110 km along the Akkem and Kucherla rivers. The landscape is breathtaking – lush forests, clear rivers, and dramatic mountain views. The path can be tough, but the peace and beauty make it totally worth it. This is a real into the wild!!!
The most memorable part was waking up with Belukha in the distance, seeing the glacier and the surrounding peaks. The route is remote, so I really felt connected with nature, and the silence is something I’ll never forget.
Tips: Be prepared for some challenging stretches. The weather can be unpredictable, so pack well. do not expect have to be marked. you actually need to know how to read maps and understand where you are to stay on track.

Stunning hiking in Tatra Mountains
I had an amazing time hiking in the Tatra Mountains in Poland. The trails are incredibly diverse, ranging from easy, scenic walks to more challenging routes that can take a few days to complete. I loved how quickly the landscape changes—one moment you're walking through greenery of a forest, the next you're surrounded by rugged peaks.
I did a couple of shorter hikes that took roughly 5 to 6 hours each, but the longer ones would definitely appeal if you want more adventure. The views are honestly jaw-dropping at every turn.
One thing to note is that the weather can change quickly, so it's important to be prepared with layers and check forecasts. The atmosphere is peaceful and the air so fresh—it’s a great place to really disconnect. Definitely worth visiting for anyone who enjoys nature!
Tip: it's Europe, so every path is marked, and it's really difficult to get lost. however it's still wilderness, so facilities of scarce, and I would truly recommend to bring everything you need like water and snack snacks do

🇨🇭 Best viewpoint in Lucerne
The Musegg Wall, a 14th-century landmark in Lucerne, is a must-visit. Located about 15 minutes from Lucerne train station, it sits on a hill, requiring some stair and slope climbing. The 870-meter wall features nine watchtowers, four of which are open to the public for free during non-winter months.
While we visited in winter and couldn't access the wall, a local recommended walking along the outer wall for stunning views. This route offered a panoramic vista of Lucerne, Lake Lucerne, and the Swiss Alps. If visiting in summer, don’t miss climbing the watchtowers for even better views!

Mountain View | Brilliant popular Spanish restaurant
Cascal
📍400 Castro St, Mountain View, CA 94041, USA
This restaurant has quite a fancy vibe. The space is large, with both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a comfortable spot overall.
Shrimp
I can’t recall the exact name of the shrimp dish, but it was wonderfully garlicky with plenty of olive oil at the base. It tasted fantastic—seafood is a must when you're in the Bay Area!
Lamb Chops
I haven’t been much of a lamb person before, but these chops were truly delicious. The meat was tender and not gamey at all.
Paella Rustica
The Spanish seafood paella was massive! It came loaded with shrimp, mussels, squid, lemon, and more. Bursting with flavor, the slightly crispy bits at the bottom were an absolute highlight.

🇨🇭 Musegg Wall in Lucerne
The Musegg Wall (Museggmauer) is a prominent historical landmark in Lucerne, Switzerland. This well-preserved medieval fortification, dating back to the 14th century, is part of the city’s original defensive walls. It is one of Lucerne's most iconic landmarks and offers stunning views of the city and its surroundings. The Musegg Wall features nine towers, four of which are open to the public. During the warmer months, typically from April to November, visitors can climb certain towers and walk along parts of the wall.

Vang Vieng has multiple viewpoints to enjoy the breathtaking scenery, and one of them is Horkham Viewpoint. The hike to the top isn’t too challenging, it only took me about 20 minutes to reach the summit.
Once I arrived, the panoramic views were absolutely spectacular, and the atmosphere was so peaceful. I went around lunchtime and only saw three other people there, which made it even nicer.
At the top, there’s also an airplane and a unicorn decoration, where you can take nice pictures.

🚂 Chaoping Station, Alishan Forest Railway
On our first day in Alishan, we followed the recommendation of our hotel receptionist and took the Alishan Forest Railway from Alishan Station to Chaoping Station (沼平車站). Tibet Unveiled: From Lhasa's Palaces to Everest's Base
After arriving in Tibet from Chengdu, my journey began in the vibrant city of hasa.
1. Lhasa and the Majestic Potala Palace
The highlight of Lhasa was undoubtedly Potala Palace. This stunning structure is awe-inspiring, with its iconic white and red buildings set against the mountains. Exploring the palace's interiors and seeing the intricate details of its shrines, murals, and halls offered a deep insight into Tibetan history and culture. Walking through Potala, I felt the weight of centuries of devotion and the beauty of Tibet's spiritual heart.
2. Exploring Xigaze
Moving on to Xigaze, I visited Tashilhunpo Monastery, home to the Panchen Lama. Xigaze's blend of ancient Tibetan architecture and modern touches provided a fascinating glimpse into life in this unique region.
3. Everest Base Camp: The Journey to the Roof of the World
Reaching Everest Base Camp was an adventure of a lifetime. Standing at the base of Mount Everest, with its massive peak towering above, was a surreal experience. The silence, broken only by the wind, and the vastness of the landscape made this an unforgettable highlight of my Tibet trip.
4. Tibetan Cuisine: A Flavorful Discovery
Tibetan food was a delight! Hearty, flavorful dishes like momos, thukpa, and butter tea warmed me in the high altitudes. The local food adds an extra layer of cultural experience, offering a taste of traditional Tibetan life.
5. Recommendations for Traveling in Tibet
Travelers should be mindful of the altitude-Tibet is high, and the air is thin. Carrying oxygen bottles, staying hydrated, and taking it slow are essential.

The Flaming Mountain is huge and this is the most famous spot where all the tourists come. There are many ways to enjoy the beauty of the flaming mountain.
1. Wander around by yourself without spending extra money.
2. Take a helicopter ride for around 3 minutes - expensive but if it is what you want to experience then GO FOR IT! 😊
3. Ride a jeep or a buggy- there are a lot of four wheels vehicles there that you can rent for a limited time.
4. Take an aeroplane- Same as the helicopter
5. Ride a donkey, a horse or a camel- the price really depends on how long will you be riding them.
The scenic area where you can take all your photos is not massive at all so you can stay here as quick or as long as you like.
I like the museum before you enter the scenic area. I really appreciated that. You will learned about the scholars who walked on the silk road and did some notable jobs during their time. The story of the Journey to the West is very interesting.

We just booked a a return tour bus using trip app and the tour guide on the bus just helped us purchase the entry ticket and all the activities you will do inside the forest park.
There are available boats if you want to experience the lake by boat or you want to go on top of a mountain and see the bird’s eye view of the lake. You will need to take a cable car to get there which is probably included in your payment.
It is 2 hours away from Urumqi and the temperature there is a colder than the city so make sure to wrap up .

A Journey Through China’s Sacred Peak
Hiking Tai Shan, one of China’s most revered mountains, is a deeply spiritual and awe-inspiring experience. As the easternmost of China’s Five Great Mountains, Tai Shan holds immense historical and cultural significance, having been a pilgrimage site for emperors and poets for over 3,000 years. Located in Shandong province, it’s not just a hike, but a walk through ancient traditions and breathtaking landscapes.
The journey begins at the base of the mountain in Tai'an city, where the famous “Red Gate” marks the starting point. The path to the summit is a steep, 6,000-step climb that winds through lush forests, ancient temples, and stone inscriptions, making each step a moment of reflection. Along the way, hikers pass landmarks such as the Midway Gate to Heaven and the Dai Temple, where pilgrims traditionally offer prayers. These sites are not only historically significant but provide peaceful spots for rest and contemplation.
As you ascend, the views become more striking, with panoramic vistas of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The air becomes cooler, and the sense of accomplishment grows with each step. The summit, known as the Jade Emperor Peak, sits at 1,545 meters above sea level. Here, the experience reaches its climax, as the sun rises over the horizon, casting a golden glow over the landscape—a truly magical sight.
Hiking Tai Shan is more than just a physical challenge; it’s a journey that connects you to China’s rich history and spirituality. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a first-timer, the mountain’s beauty and cultural depth make it an unforgettable adventure. It’s no wonder Tai Shan has been a symbol of endurance and reverence for millennia.

Scenic Bus Journey from Sun Moon Lake to Alishan
The journey from Sun Moon Lake to Alishan by public transport can seem challenging, but luckily, I found a direct bus operated by Yuanlin Bus (員林客運), which departs daily at 8 AM from Sun Moon Lake. The trip took just over 3 hours, with two brief rest stops along the way. Be sure to email the bus operator in advance to reserve a seat, as availability is limited. The fare was TWD 336 per person.
It was a scenic and unforgettable ride through the mountains of central Taiwan. As we ascended the winding mountain roads, we were surrounded by lush greenery, dense forests, and towering trees. The scenery transitioned from subtropical vegetation near Sun Moon Lake to misty, high-altitude forests as we approached Alishan. Along the way, we passed bamboo groves, tea plantations, and patches of mist rising through the trees, creating a tranquil and almost mystical atmosphere.

Piz Gloria at the summit of Schilthorn got its name from a James Bond novel and is well known as the film location for the 1969 Bond movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". In addition to Spy World museum, a new and larger exhibition, called "007 Walk of Fame", was opened in July 2015 on the Schilthorn ridge to pay tribute to the cast and behind-the-scenes contributors to the iconic James Bond movie. The Walk of Fame consists of 15 information panels featuring George Lazenby, who played James Bond in the film, and members of the film crew. Each panel features a photo, signature, handprint in steel and a personal message. Walking on the ridge was quite a challenge especially during winter due to the strong wind and heavy snow. It's definitely worth a walk nonetheless as the ridge is an excellent vantage point for taking in the spectacular alpine scenery.
