Winter’s Coming: Utah’s National Parks Take on a Snowy Spin!
#magicalxmastrip #utah #usa
When winter knocks on Utah’s doorstep, it brings a whole new vibe to the state’s famous national parks. Picture this: snowflakes gently dusting the red rock formations, towering hoodoos wrapped in frosty layers, and landscapes that look like they were plucked straight out of a winter wonderland.
Take Zion National Park, for example. As the winter chill rolls in, the crowds melt away (pun intended!), leaving you to hike through the canyon in total peace. The red rocks pop against the snow, and you might even spot a deer or two in a cozy winter coat.
Meanwhile, Arches National Park? Pure magic. The famous arches and rock formations, usually sun-soaked and desert-dusted, get their own winter makeover with a blanket of snow, making it look like a scene from a snow globe. The best part? You’ll have all the time and space to snap epic photos without the crowds!
And let’s not forget Bryce Canyon—the land of hoodoos and fairy-tale landscapes. When winter arrives, these towering rock formations get a frosty crown, turning the park into a snow-covered fantasyland. It’s the kind of place where you can’t help but feel like you’ve stumbled upon a secret winter oasis.
So, if you’re looking to escape the usual hustle and bustle, grab your winter gear and head to Utah’s national parks. The snow makes everything more magical, and who wouldn’t want to see red rocks and icy peaks in one epic adventure? Let’s hit the snow!

Zion National Park is famous for its massive sandstone cliffs, narrow canyons, and diverse wildlife. Here’s a guide to exploring this incredible desert oasis!
🧗 1. Hike Angel’s Landing
One of Zion’s most thrilling hikes, Angel’s Landing takes you up a steep, narrow ridge with chains for support. The views from the top are jaw-dropping, with the entire canyon stretching out below. Just be prepared for a challenging trek!
🌊 2. Wade Through The Narrows
The Narrows is a unique hike through the Virgin River as it winds between towering canyon walls. Wear water shoes and be ready to wade or even swim in sections—this cool, refreshing hike is an unforgettable way to experience Zion from within the canyon.
🦌 3. Watch for Bighorn Sheep in the Eastern Canyon
Bighorn sheep are commonly seen along Zion’s East Entrance, especially in the early morning or late afternoon. Keep an eye out for them climbing the cliffs or grazing along the slopes—they’re one of the park’s most iconic residents.
🚗 4. Take the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive
The scenic drive through Zion Canyon offers breathtaking views of the red rock formations, with pull-offs to see highlights like the Court of the Patriarchs and Big Bend. Consider taking the shuttle to get a relaxed, narrated ride through the heart of the park.
⭐ Top Tips:
Arrive Early – Zion’s popular spots can get busy, so early mornings mean fewer crowds and cooler temperatures.
Dress for Water and Sand – Many trails are rocky or wet, so sturdy water shoes and quick-dry clothing are ideal.
Bring Binoculars – For a closer look at bighorn sheep and other wildlife that make Zion special.

A riverside walk at Zion
Zion national park is one of the many natural wonders that bless the South West of the United States.
Before visiting this national park, many people hear or read about some of the more famous hikes such as Angel’s landing which requires a permit and considerable experience or the narrows which can become extremely dangerous during the parks frequent flash flooding.
The good news is that the park and its natural wonders can be discovered through a walk that is neither dangerous or particularly strenuous, the riverside walk.
The 3 mile round trip is relatively flat but along its short journey it takes in some dramatic scenery as you follow the Virgin river towards the narrows.

Best hikes in Arches National Park 🇺🇸
#usatrip
Arches National Park is one of the two national park located conveniently (within 30 min) from Moab, Utah - for those looking to spend a day in this amazing national park, here are my top recommendations and tips:
🏔️ Best long hike: I would really recommend the Delicate Arch trail (📍Address: Delicate Arch Trail, Moab, UT 84532, United States) - it is a relatively challenging hike, covering a round trip distance of 5.1 km and will take you around 3 - 5 hours to complete depending on your physical fitness.
🏜️ Best short hike: the Window Trail (📍Address: Windows Lp Trl, Utah 84532, USA) is the best short to moderate hole for those looking to enjoy their trip without tiring themselves too much - the hike itself is only 1 km round trip and it’s relatively flat, should take you less than an hour to complete. Be sure to look back when you are at the mid-way point as you can see a majestic view of the North and South window side by side!
⭐️ Top tips: bring a ton of water!!! It’s very important to stay hydrated on trail as it gets really hot and dry since the national park is basically a dessert!

Top tips for wildlife sighting in Zion National Park 🇺🇸
#usatrip
Introducing this number 1 tip for those who are looking to spot amazing wildlife in Zion National Park, especially the big horn sheep!
🚗 Best location to spot wildlife: drive along the 30 mile route between the East Entrance and the Zion Visitor Center, big horn sheep, deers, and various birds are active around this area! Be sure to drive slow and stop when you see other cars stopping by to take photos!
⏰ Best time to spot wildlife: early morning and late evening are the best time to admire wildlife as they are generally most active around this time given that it’s relatively cooling compared to peak afternoon!
🐐 Top safety tips: Respect the animal - as harmless as they seem, they can be aggressive if they felt threatened, this is especially true during the mating season! So be sure to take photos from a distance and never get too close to them.

Bonneville Salt Flats
#usatravel #utah
We had the chance to visit one of the most scenic places we've ever been: the Bonneville Salt Flats. It felt like we had traveled to another planet—what an incredible view.
The Bonneville Salt Flats are a unique and expansive natural feature located in northwestern Utah, near the Nevada border. The flats cover approximately 30,000 acres (121 square kilometers) and are part of the larger Great Salt Lake Desert.
As we drove past the vast, endless white salt flats, we were stunned by the grandeur and beauty of this natural attraction, which is a remnant of the ancient Lake Bonneville that existed during the last Ice Age. As the lake evaporated, it left behind a thick crust of salt.
The flats are open to the public year-round. Visitors can drive on the flats (conditions permitting), walk, or cycle across the expansive area.
We spent hours walking around and took many cool photos. As a result, this is one of the most memorable trips we've ever had.
Bonneville Speedway Road @ Bonneville Salt Flats
#usatravel #utah
When we traveled to the Bonneville Salt Flats, one of the must-visit spots was the Bonneville Speedway, a scenic road leading to the heart of the salt flats.
The Bonneville Speedway Road offers visitors an otherworldly sight that is both beautiful and stunning. You’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the vast, flat, white salt crust stretching to the horizon, with a long, straight road that seems to go on forever.
Especially, when water covers the salt surface, it creates mirror-like reflection of the blue sky and surrounding mountains, making it look like an upside-down world.
Bonneville Speedway Road is more than just a route; it’s a gateway to one of the most unique and storied landscapes in the United States. This road leads us to an unforgettable adventure at the Bonneville Salt Flats.
Unbelievable other worldly views in Bryce
Bryce Canyon national park offers some of the most breathtaking views I have ever experienced, the scenery makes you feel like you are on another planet entirely. We drove through on a road trip around California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah and it was by far the highlight of the trip!
We entered using an annual national park card, which is a bargain at $80 for the year - it gives you access to countless national parks across America which can be upto $45 each per entry!
The park starts off low but you start to gain altitude quite fast, and within an hour of driving you are at some of the best view points you will ever experience. There are stunning views that enable you to see for miles in the distance, the contract between the immediate red rocks and then the barron lands around were incredible We went during winter so the snow cover was very heavy but it made it even more beautiful!
It’s worth getting the map from the entrance as sometimes the signs along the route are blocked with snow! So using the map you are able to work out all the best viewing locations.
It’s also a great place for nature in the lower areas and around the entrances to the park, we were able to see dears, turkeys, pheasants and the occasional squirrel.

Time stood still in Grafton Ghost Town, Utah
Grafton Is a small Ghost Town just south of Zion National Park in Utah, I have always been fascinated by the idea of a ghost town so we made a quick stop on the way to the national park.
The ghost town is on google maps and is easy to get to, the last five minutes of the journey is off road but the road is very wide and east to drive on. As you enter the area on your immediate left is the graveyard, further down the road is the small town itself.
The town consists of about 6 buildings including a church, the Grafton Preservation society has done a good job maintaining the area and you are able to enter most of the buildings (The church was closed on our visit)
We entered the buildings that we could and took in the area, it was fascinating to see how life would have been back then. The town was founded in 1859 and survived against the weather, native Americans and disease until 1944.
For me the most interesting part was the graveyard, there is detailed information about the people interred there and it gives you a good understanding of how hard it was to survive in those days. There was a high infant mortality rate, deaths from accidents and of course fights with the native American population.
If you’re in the area for Zion National Park definitely check this out, an eye opening view into early settlement activity.

Other worldly hot springs, looks like Mars 🪐
Mystic Hot Springs is an incredible chance to experience an other worldly environment, hot springs that make you feel like you’re on Mars.
We stopped on the way to Salt Lake City from Zion national park, it was about 3 hours drive.
You can book in advance online, they will send you email confirmation with a waiver that you need to sign!
When you arrive you call the reception and announce your arrival, you park up and use the changing rooms then walk up to the hot springs.
The hot springs are located behind the farmhouse; just follow the signs. Then there are two separate hot communal hot springs along with individual baths.
Be careful with the temperatures as they get hotter the higher you go up the hill. Also make sure you bring flip flops and a towel to use for the walk from the hot springs down to the changing room.
If you’re in the area it’s well worth a visit!

Live like a Cowboy, sleeping in a wagon
If you’re heading to the Zion national park this is a great place to check out for a treat night stay. The White Bison glamping camp has some incredible options for some authentic cowboy style stays.
We chose a twin double covered wagon with its own bathroom, it was incredibly comfortable and very well designed. It has its own coffee machine, heater, TV and hot shower.
Outside was the winner for me, each wagon has a fire pit with seating and fully functioning and equipped BBQ area with a grill, fridge and dish washer.
There are detailed instructions to use everything and great wifi too. Definitely the most interesting place I’ve stayed in A long time!

Zion, Landscapes you have to see to believe!
Zion national park is something you have to see for yourself to fully believe, it’s as if you are on a totally different planet.
About 2.5 hours drive from Las Vegas for 7 from Los Angeles this national park is absolutely stunning. Famous for its ancient landscapes and untouched nature it’s a great way to see a different side of America.
We visited out of season so we were able to drive through the entire park, during season you are only allowed to drive so far and then get on the free shuttle buses.
There’s plenty of places to pull in for photos and a very interesting visitor center so make sure to save time for that!

Flower girl!
Have you ever been in the midst of a city full of people and you wanted to escape somewhere in the quiet ?
I was caught up like that in the city of salt lake and just a drive of 1hr took me away from the noise and put in the middle of a beautiful forest.
The beautiful nature evoked the inner child in me, I gazed at the Milky Way while I goto sleep, jumped out of my sleep at the rise of the sun, smell the meadow flowers.
What an experience.
If you ever come to Utah, please take a day out to camp at one of the spots, I went camping , and the pictures were taken at the broad-head meadows. #mytripvlog #campingglamping #utah #summervacation

Horseshoe Bens adventure
We visited the amazing Horseshoe Bend on the way to Monument Valley. This was an amazing location and what was even better is the fact that the hotels here in Page, Arizona are all mostly new and super super cheap to stay at. It makes a great road trip that you will remember forever!
We stayed at a gorgeous hotel in Monument Valley, called the View hotel. We stayed in the cabins just facing Monument Valley and this is an unbelievable location. I would recommend booking way in advance and be prepared to pay a high price. The Perfect Solo Road Trip
One of the best solo road trip I've ever done was from Wyoming To Utah, a vast flat land with a sport car and convertible driving across the state towards Utah.
The drive was easy due to the straight roads, but of course could be tiring too but hey the view is amazing! Upon reach Utah, I stayed in a place called Under Canvas which is a company that does glamping at several places in the states. What adds to the amazing experience is waking up in the middle of limestone cliffs where the sun reflects the light onto these magnificent cliffs making it reddish.
I have to say that I dislike camping out alone, but under canvas glamping experience gave me a whole new perspective of travelling solo and camping. Indeed this was a next level experience that I would love to do it again!

The Land Of Beautiful Arches
Arches National Park is located at Utah where it consists of over 2000 natural stone arches in the whole entire park.
There are a few popular arches where you will see many tourists and do require abit of walking and climbing, but isn't something too difficult. Some of the popular arches are delicate arch(the most famous Arch with some climbing required), landscape arch where is the 2nd most famous Arch(and this arch might collapse anytime), the balance rock where you will see a rock at the top of one of the rock formation.
These 3 popular arches you see are in the pictures of this post, do check out their walking distance required and make sure you do prepare some supplies with you like water and food, as the hot sun can be scorching hot.

Stunning Red Rocks of Arches National Park
Arches National Park is one of the many famous Park located in Moab,Utah. We did a rest stop from our road trip and head into the National park where you are required to pay a fee of $30USD for cars and it has become so popular that your are required to book a time entry ticket 3 mths before your visit or you can get a annual pass instead for $55USD which I do recommend.
There are many activities that you can do here like hiking to the 2000 over Arches in this park, or just drive along the scenic road in the park. Infact there are many hikes here for you to see the many beautiful natural Arches, which I recommend to also plan your trip before coming here.
During summer, the national park can be really hot and quite uncomfortable, do bring ample water and food, and also bring an umbrella and sunblock as there isn't much shade here. Do go early as well, as you will also see many tour buses here during your trip due to the popularity of this place.
Also, what makes this a perfect trip is definitely a convertible car which you can also now book via the trip app, do remember to book early to maximise your savings, and also look out for amazing deals and offer too!

A Hikers Dream @ Lake Blanche - UTAH
Hikers and mountaineers enthusiasts dream place should be Utah! There are uncountable amount of mountains and trails to scale. One of which is the beautiful Lake Blanche located at Utah 84121,USA. To get her park at the Lake Blanche Trialhead at Brighton, UT 84121 and start your 11km hike out and back.
This is not an easy route and generally it takes about 6-7hours for the entire trial as you have to climb certain rocks. But of course the trails starts of easy but gets harder almost half way thru, this is a popular area for hiking and you will meet other fellow Hikers but do look out for the trail markers to guide you to the top.
This hike is worth it and make sure you bring ample water and food to enjoy your well deserve break at the top of the mountain with the scenic Lake. With such beauty, how would this not be a worth it place to visit.

Squaw Peak Photo Shoot
My friends in the BYU advertising program asked me to help with a photo shoot for Carhartt WIP. The theme was camp and the location the chose was seven miles up the trail in the opposite direction of the overlook. It was raining at first but the second half of the day was clear. There were beautiful birch trees and the view of the mountains was incredible. There were also rolling hills that were breathtaking. It was a great opportunity to get some fresh air. It was really muddy but for the most part it was a great and unforgettable adventure. The sunset was amazing and there is nothing better than great weather for a trip. #utah #provocanyon#squawpeak#rollinghills#mountainview#utah
Famous Delicate Arch in Arches National Park
One of the most popular most visited attraction in the arches national park is the delicate arch.
Although there are 2000 stone arches in this park, but this particular arch has become a widely recognized symbol of the state of utah and one of the most famous geologic features in the world.
Many tourists will flock here during the sunset to see the colour changing rocks due to the reflection of the sun.
To reach to the delicate arch is it a 4.8km round trip hike with moderately difficulty simple beacause there will be a steep incline about 800m one way up and after the hike is generally easy and rewarding. This hike is not shaded at all and can get really hot. Do some rock scrambling and get the perfect spot for the sunset. Don't be surprise, the photos attached shows many tourists during sundown.
After sundown the national park gets really really dark really fast, do remember to bring your torchlight to guide you back down the arches and down to the carpark.
This hike is definitely a MUST to go to when you are in Utah Moab.

Overlooking Canyonlands National Park
Taken from Dead horse point overlook which is the state park of Utah in untied states, Moab.
There are several hiking trails here, the hike to dead horse point is a total of 16km if you take all the spurs but 8km if you take none. The overlook are gorgeous and breathtaking but do be very cautious as these overlooks are not fenced up. At times it might be slippery due to rain. There are several overlooks here that you can explore before you reach dead horse point outlook are:
- Big Horn Overlook
- Rim Overlook
- Shafer Canyon Overlook
- Meander Overlook
There are also several arches in the state park, the popular one would be the Mesa Arch in the pictures attached and another would be the delicate arch which will be in another post.
But if you are lazy, you can just drive all the way up to dead horse point overlook, park there and head to the little outlooks around the carparks. The drive though, can take from 30mins to a few hours depending on your interest and stop points. So make sure you plan your trip there.
There will be an entrance fee of $10USD for each vehicle entering the park.

Want an experience while staying out in vast nature and looking at the night skies filled with stars?

Do take note that the toilets are shared but goshhhh it's so clean! I am someone who never dare to stay in a place without a private toilet but this place changed my perspective for sure!
And waking up with the morning sunrise. its just amazing! And also a very short drive to the rocky national mountain parks.

Located at the east rim of the grand canyon.
You will be able to catch magnificent view with a short hike of 1.3mile +/-.
But be warned that it could get really really hot out there but the walk is worth it.
It feels like you are in the land of the dinosaurs. How dinosaurs roamed the earth.
The path are well marked and do not require any high level experience to do these tracks. But do remember to bring extra food and water as there are so many things to see and out here.
