Yalong Bay: Where Luxury Meets Tropical Bliss
Yalong Bay in Sanya is truly a slice of paradise. The white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters make it one of the most beautiful spots in China. It’s the perfect place to unwind, especially if you’re staying at one of the many luxury hotels that line the bay, offering world-class amenities and stunning sea views.
The relaxing atmosphere is a highlight. Unlike busier beaches, Yalong Bay feels serene and exclusive, ideal for lounging by the water or taking peaceful strolls along the shoreline.
However, there are a couple of drawbacks to keep in mind. The area doesn’t have a lot of dining options nearby, so you may find yourself sticking to hotel restaurants, which can be pricey and somewhat limited in variety. Additionally, if you’re visiting in late August, the sea tends to be a bit wavy, which may not be ideal for swimming but still enjoyable for a beachside retreat.
Overall, Yalong Bay is a fantastic choice for a luxurious and relaxing getaway!

An enchanting moment at Arashiyama Bamboo Forest
#closetonature #100waysoftravel
While visiting Kyoto we had a chance to visit the enchanting Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, which is located near the Tenryuji area. This forest has had a very long history of being the zen area for many temples, and the there are tens of thousands of Bamboo shoots there, and you.might see from the picture. The aplenty tall Bamboo trees makes the place a very serene and quiet area to stroll, but please visit there as early as possible and during weekdays, as the crowd might go piling up during weekends and on later days. I was there at 8.30am, so definitely I do not have to get myself stucked with so many tourists, allowing me the enjoy this serendipity.

My adventure with full of surprises ✨
#closetonature
As we know, oceans and seas covered 71% of the earth’s surface. The oceans are different with the swimming pool even though they are full with the water. To me, ocean is alive, the sound of the wave is meditative, it’s make me feels like everything could be cure.
I ever dreamed to be a mermaid when I was a kid, so I got my diving license and started my adventure with the ocean.
Diving in the ocean is unexpected and unforgettable, when you hope to see something, sometimes the ocean gives you a gift and sometimes it doesn’t.
Diving in the ocean evoke a lots of feelings and emotions like:
1. Enjoy the beauty of colourful corals, marine life, different types of of micro creatures (nudibranch & seahars)
2. Feeling excited to exploring new dive site.
3. Feeling calmness as the underwater is quiet and meditative, it’s make people feeling like flying in the sea which lead the feeling to release stress.

My whale watching cruise in Juneau, Alaska, was truly a dream come true and an unforgettable addition to my bucket list. From the moment we set sail, I was captivated by the stunning scenery surrounding us—the majestic mountains, lush forests, and the sparkling waters of the Inside Passage.

A Serene Escape at Sutera Mantanani
#closetonature
#100waysoftravel
Still by far my favourite island in Sabah - Mantanani Island. While the journey to get there was a bit bumpy—45 minutes in a speedboat that was quite jumpy—the view upon reaching the island was absolutely worth it.
The room featured charming wooden vibes that perfectly complemented the tropical setting (though unfortunately, I didn’t get a photo of it - only a video which I’m unable to post here apparently). The beauty of the island truly captivated me, especially the corals surrounding it. We had the chance to swim and snorkel around the island. My gosh, the corals.. they were magnificent! So colorful and vibrant, I was in awe of their beauty.
That morning, I woke up to the sight of the ocean—the bluest ocean I have ever seen. It felt like I was staring at a painting; the view was just breathtaking and left me speechless. I found myself simply sitting by the sand, soaking in the beauty of my surroundings, and appreciating the tranquility of the island.
The resort itself was stunning, with well-maintained grounds that made you feel at one with nature. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring my stay was relaxing. Although the boat ride was a challenge, it only made the reward of being on such a beautiful island even sweeter.
I will definitely come back, maybe for a longer stay next time—perhaps even for my honeymoon! This island truly deserves more time to explore and enjoy. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway, Sutera Mantanani is a place I highly recommend.
Ps: It’s also worth mentioning that Mantanani Island has other accommodations operating there, so you have options to choose from depending on your preferences.

Trip to Reykjavik 🇮🇸
It was a trip Reykjavik, Iceland 🇮🇸 with friends. It is a nature-focused summer trip after living in city centre for so long.
We began our trip by heading to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Our first stop was the iconic Kirkjufell Mountain 🏔️ Known for its perfect cone shape, it’s one of Iceland’s most picturesque locations 📸 A short walk takes you to Kirkjufellsfoss, a stunning waterfall with Kirkjufell as the backdrop. We recommend visiting early in the morning to avoid crowds.
📍Kirkjufell, Grundarfjörður
💰Free
We also explored Snæfellsjökull National Park, where the landscape is shaped by the powerful Snæfellsjökull glacier. We hiked through lava fields, see seabird colonies, and even take a glacier tour 🙌 We opted for the Vatnshellir Cave Tour, a guided exploration into the lava tubes below the park.
📍Snæfellsnesvegur, 356 Snæfellsbær
💰ISK 4,500 (USD 34) for the cave tour
We went for a beautiful coastal walk from Arnarstapi to Hellnar. The 2.5 km trail along the cliffs offers panoramic ocean views and unique basalt formations. The cliffs are alive with seabirds, making this a perfect spot for birdwatchers.
📍Arnarstapi, 350 Snæfellsnes
💰 Free
We spent a night at The Red House in Hellnar, a charming guesthouse nestled right on the edge of nature. The house’s rustic style and cozy interior were the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring the peninsula. Sitting on the porch and watching the midnight sun over the ocean 🌊 was unforgettable ❤️❤️❤️
📍The Red House, Hellnar, 356 Snæfellsnes
💰ISK 15,000–20,000 (USD 110–150) per night
We also drove along Hvalfjörður Fjord, an often-overlooked gem of Iceland. The drive itself was tranquil, with hardly any traffic, making it an ideal escape into nature. We made several stops along the way to enjoy the peaceful shores and spot seals basking in the sun.
📍 Hvalfjörður, 301 Akranes
💰Free
We also hiked to Glymur Waterfall, the second tallest waterfall in Iceland, cascading from a height of 198 meters. The trail takes you through a scenic valley, crossing rivers and weaving through birch forests 🌳 before opening up to reveal the spectacular falls. The hike is moderately challenging, but the breathtaking views are more than worth the effort. I recommend sturdy hiking boots 🥾 and bringing plenty of water.
📍Glymur, Botnsdalur Valley, 301 Hvalfjörður
💰 Free
We then drove further inland to visit Hraunfossar, a series of small waterfalls that flow out of the Hallmundarhraun lava field, and Barnafoss, a more powerful waterfall with a tragic folklore attached to it. The clear blue waters and surrounding greenery in summer made it one of the most beautiful places we visited 😍😍😍
📍Hraunfossar, 320 Reykholt
💰 Free
The trip took us deep into Iceland’s rugged and untouched landscapes, with a focus on hiking, waterfalls, and unique geothermal areas. It was a perfect nature-based Icelandic adventure.

Easy hike on beautiful Lamma Island!
Lamma Island felt like a different place entirely! It was the perfect contrast to the chaos of Hong Kong 🏙️
🏝️
🗓️Itinerary Scheduling:
We were staying in Aberdeen so took the ferry from there to the fishing village of Sok Kwu Wan. It took about 40 mins and cost around HKD 12. Try to time it to have lunch at one of the many seafood 🦞 restaurants by the pier!
After eating, we took the well-signposted 5km Lamma Island Family Walk trail to Yung Shue Wan. It took about an hour with plenty of stopping, and the path took us past the Kamikaze Cave as well as some small island villages. At times, the views were outstanding!
We were tempted to stop for a while on the beach as we passed it, but continued on to Yung Shue Wan. Once there, we stopped for iced tea for a rest, explored the small town and got a passenger ferry back to Aberdeen from there (about HKD 24)⛴️
💞Reasons to Recommend: The island is tranquil and laid back, it seems far removed from the city! The Lamma Island Family Walk is super easy and accessible, with clear paths and no significant inclines (and there is an alternative circular trail from Sok Kwu Wan that you can take for better views!).
