Exploring the Royal Botanic Garden, a wholeheartedly relaxation and peaceful escape!
#australiatrip#sydney#gardens#travel
The Royal Botanic Garden is the oldest botanic garden of Australis, aside with the iconic Sydney Opera House and overlooking the beautiful Sydney Harbour. Walking alongside the water offer a fantastic view of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.
We entered the gardens from the Macquarie Street entrance, and all of the walking would be downhill. This massive garden is beautifully manicured and well-maintained, adorned with ornamental plants, rolling lawns, and ancient trees, with a mix of native and international species. A wide range of the Carnivorous plant display in the Calyx building is marvelous and I love it.
⏩ There are cafes and restrooms available close to all the exits.
⏩ Overall rated: 4.8/5, strolling around the garden is absolutely a wholeheartedly relaxation and peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle, worth
a visit!
⏩ The Royal Botanic Garden is open everyday from 7am - 8pm. Free admission!

Tranquility Amidst the Bustle: A Morning at Shanghai’s Jade Buddha Temple
During my recent trip to Shanghai, I spend a peaceful morning exploring the marvellous Jade Buddha Temple, an experience that completely surprised me. Nestled amidst the city’s urban sprawl, the temple offered a serene scape. What struck me most was the lack of crowds - something rare in a city as vibrant as Shanghai. #historicallandmarks
As I wandered through the ornate halls, I marvelled at the two exquisite Buddha statues carved from white jade, each radiating calm and artistry. The temple’s courtyards, filled with the scent of incense and punctuated by the soothing sound of prayer chants, created an atmosphere of utter tranquility. #gardens #temple #tourism
The temple’s highlight is its two exquisite jade Buddha statues, brought from Burma in 1882. The seated Buddha, adorned with semi-precious stones, radiates calm, while the smaller Reclining Buddha symbolises enlightenment. Walking through the ornate halls and courtyards filled with incense and soft chants was truly captivating. #buddha
Cultural Facts:
- The temple, rebuilt in 1928, showcases traditional Chinese architecture with intricate carvings.
- The Four Heavenly Kings Hall at the entrance represents health, wealth and wisdom through its celestial guardians.
- The temple is a working monastery and an active center for Buddhist practice. Many local worshippers visit to light incense and pray for blessing, making it a deeply spiritual place.
Travel Tips:

Dreamy Yu Gardens
Shanghai is best known for its huge skyscrapers and beautiful skyline. I am, however, a sucker for all things old. While in Shanghai, I managed to get my fix of ancient architecture in the beautiful Yu Gardens. A little oasis in the middle of a bustling city. I spent 2 hours there, just walking, taking in the views, and I even had a little snack! The gardens can get quite busy, but if you want peace and quiet, noise cancelling headphones will do the trick :)

The garden of England
West London’s Kew Gardens is possibly the most famous garden in all of England. Almost 200 years old it is home to one of the most biodiverse collection of flora in the world.
At its heart is the incredible Palm House, one of the finest examples of these ornate glass and iron structures that were a major symbol for status up and down the country during the reign of Queen Victoria.
Other attractions at the gardens include the treetop walkway which gives a fantastic view of the canopy, the lake at the heart of the gardens, the multi sensory hive experience and the Japanese Pagoda #gardens #london #royal
A Welsh wonderland
Just outside the famous castle city of Conwy lies one of the most beautiful of all national trust gardens- Bondant Gardens.
The Italian style gardens were once privately owned and have been passed down through the generations. A floral Paradise
Singapore’s gardens by the bay is arguably the most stunning example of urban gardens in the world. The Supertree grove and cloud forest have become famous around the world and are well worth the visit.
However, whilst you’re there, it’s definitely recommended to buy yourself a combined ticket to give an opportunity to visit the equally impressive flower dome.
The huge gardens are set out geographically showing flora from all corners of the globe and every biome imaginable in a stunning setting.

National trust on the edge of Cambridge
Another reason to get yourself an annual pass to the National trust is a trip to Wimpole estate in Cambridgeshire. Whilst you are here there are a multitude of things you can see and do.
The Hall- a grand 17th century building showing life from a bygone era and a selection of fine art.
The Grounds- whether you want to visit the formal and walled gardens, see animals at the farm or explore the less manicured 3000 acres of parkland there’s something for everyone.

Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal: North Yorkshire’s world heritage site.
The twin UNESCO world heritage sites of Fountains Abbey and Studley royal gardens just outside of Ripon showcase two impressive parts of the areas history. The ruins of the abbey destroyed during the reformation under the Henry VIII and the 18th century water garden are both stunning and insightful in equal measures. A perfect spot for a stroll or a summers picnic just admiring the view. #abbey #gardens
Biddulph grange: A National trust hidden treasure
On the border of Cheshire and Staffordshire lies a national trust property that has received very little publicity, however on a summer’s afternoon there are few places more beautiful in the area. Biddulph gardens contains a maze of different gardens from the beautiful Chinese gardens with its pagoda, the Egyptian court dominated by its sphynx amongst many more. Another reason to invest in the National trust’s membership for a year #nationaltrust #gardens
Le Jardin of France
#myhiddengems
Back in the days, Loire valley was indeed refered to as the Garden of France. That fact right there had my mind set of visiting it. I'm a big fan of gardens and park, particularly in very wonderful France. And that wasn't it. Upon visiting this place, I think it has amongst the best castles from renaissance and medival times. The likes of Château de Chambord and Château de Chenonceau are beyond comparison.
On a day trip you're looking forward to not just chateaux and gardens. But the incredible scenery that the Loire river offers too. The area also has a rich winemaking history. I can't quite recollect the name of the vineyard which was merely 20 minutes away. But it was a fantastic experience. This is one of those places where you can't pull up names or point out this and that. The place and its ambience as a whole is what works.
There is also the town of Blois where you could stroll around or stop for lunch or any meal of the day. It's got a town square, a castle, park and some museums too that I only found out about much later. This part of town does come across as touristy but hey the prices are not as bad as Paris.

Hever Castle & Gardens 🇬🇧
#londontrip
I recently visited Hever Castle & Gardens in Kent, and it was an unforgettable experience! The entrance fee was £19.75 for adults, but it's totally worth it. This historic castle, once home to Anne Boleyn, is stunning. The interiors are beautifully preserved, and the exhibitions give a great insight into Tudor history. 🏰🌹
The gardens were the highlight for me—absolutely breathtaking! From the Italian Garden to the Rose Garden, it’s a paradise for nature lovers. The lake walk was so peaceful, and we even tried the water maze, which was loads of fun.
Nearby, you can explore the charming village of Edenbridge and the lovely Chiddingstone Castle. Perfect for a day of adventure! 🌿✨

Glorious England
Nothing inspires a sense of tranquility quite like an English country garden. England has hundreds of fascinating stately homes, some of which are over a thousand years old, while others are only a few hundred years old. Each has their own charm, and each has their own magnificent architecture, furniture and art. However, the greatest part of any English manor is it’s garden, and the houses of Somerset have some of the finest gardens in all of England.#falltrip #freehotelstay #mytravelhacks #england #gardens #tranquility

Castle and Gardens Weikersheim, situated in the charming town of Weikersheim, Germany, is a delightful historical and horticultural treasure. This Renaissance castle, dating back to the 16th century, is a captivating blend of architectural grandeur and natural beauty.
Exploring the castle's lavishly decorated rooms, including the stunning banquet hall, transported me to a bygone era of aristocratic opulence. The intricate woodwork, tapestries, and art collection are a testament to the region's noble history.
The highlight of the visit, however, is the breathtaking gardens. The terraced gardens, with their geometric patterns, vibrant flowerbeds, and serene water features, are a visual delight. They provide a perfect backdrop for a leisurely stroll or a moment of contemplation.

📌"Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden"中国科学院西双版纳热带植物园
📍Address: Yunnan, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Mengla County, 勐仑镇
Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is a comprehensive research institution engaged in scientific research, species preservation, science communication, science and technology development, and a well-known scenic spot as well. From diverse plants, trees, and flowers, I felt like I was in a wonderland surrounded by green nature.
It is one of the most impressive botanical gardens in the world and features over 12,000 species of plants in its 35 different garden habitats.
It takes you days to visit all XTBG because of the many gardens; personally, half of the first day I visited the Flower Garden featured exotic and indigenous flowers, approximately 280 species in all.
During July and August, the giant royal water lily, or king lotus, will be the most eye-catching plant.

A Captivating Sakura Experience at Gardens by the Bay
From the moment we entered the garden, we were greeted by a vibrant explosion of colors and delicate floral fragrances. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, transforming the entire park into a mesmerizing wonderland. The showcase featured an exquisite variety of cherry blossom trees, carefully curated to represent different species and varieties found in Japan.
Unlike the traditional Hanami in Japan, picnic is prohibited inside the Flower Dome, but you still can enjoy your tea time or have a nice meal in Hortus, a casual Mediterranean cuisine restaurant by Michelin star chef Michael Wilson that's located inside the Flower Dome.
We highly recommend visiting Gardens by the Bay during their Sakura season if you have the chance. Whether you're nature enthusiasts, photography lovers, or simply seeking a captivating cultural experience, Sakura at Gardens by the Bay is an event that shouldn't be missed. Do come early in the morning or during weekdays to avoid the crowd as the Sakura season is highly popular among the visitors!

Shanghai’s Gardens

Chenshan Botanical Gardens is a little further out of Shanghai’s main city centre but worth a trip to see it.
Tickets cost 60RMB for a whole day entry and the area is huge.
