The capital or Shandong Province, Jinan is an underrated, and surprisingly pleasant city! It is known as the City of Springs (泉城) as there are many natural spring water outlets, many of which have been turned into pretty parks. It's easy to walk around the city, there are lots of cute photo spots, and a huge night food market! To be honest, I had never heard of Jinan until I booked my flight from Xi'an to Singapore, which let me have a stopover in Jinan, so I took the chance to explore the city. Visiting Jinan Daming Hu Lake was an enchanting experience. The serene beauty of the lake, with its crystal-clear waters and lush greenery, provided a perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle. It’s absolutly worth it! The view of Jinan City is unbelievable, even if the staff doesn’t speak English they try their best to translate and offer a good service, paying the extra 350 for the afternoon tea and happy hour is a must! The room is comfortable and clean. The overall experience was beautiful. The Five Dragon Pool (五龙潭), is located in the heart of Shandong Province's Ji'nan. Accessible by both car and bus, it is literally located across the street from the famouse Baotu Spring Park, therefore it is easy to do both attractions on the same visit. Once inside, you can take a leisurely stroll around the central small lake area along with the interesting collection of pavilion structures here. I was amazed by the amount of beautiful statues this park has to offer. The star of the show is the aforementioned Five Dragon Pool, complete with 5 seperate fountains. If you are on a city tour, then this is an essential place to visit and can easily be completed in 30-45 minutes. Best time to visit is definitely Spring or Summer and also in early evening to take advantage of the sunset reflection. #2023travelwish #tripblazers #jinan

I wasn’t quite sure what I was expecting from Jinan before I went. The only thing I wanted to do was to go to a Shandong Taishan football game, which we did end up going to and it was great! Jinan though really surprised me with how nice the city was. Being honest their is not as much to do in the city compared to others but it is still a friendly city. The Baotu springs are beautiful and there is a wonderful park in the center of the city. When travelling for business in Jinan, I always stay at the Hilton Jinan South Hotel and Residences. It’s close to the 2nd ring so easy access to West train station and the surroundings are really beautiful. It’s also got a modern mall next door for anything you need. Try ordering some Waimai- it will be delivered to you in a robot haha. The gym has great views but the pool can be a bit crowded with children so go early in the morning if you do, just fyi. #jinan

Just walk up north from the springs square 2km and voila! 😍 There are gorgeous temples and Buddha statues scattered all over the park. We were looking for the Thousand Buddha hill and bumped into this one instead so we gave it a shot. It was a bit of a hike with beautiful views and nice temples along the way up to rest and refresh with small vendors. It is a big high up the hill but totally worth jt! #jinan #temple #hike
